Second half of the game saw a US diplomatic offensive, and Bill squeaked past me in the final count 134-127.
WORLD ORDER! Ran through a couple turns on my own, now set up to teach 2P w Bill. Kind of a table hog? But it looks good.
It's never too late for HAM. Unless it's Friday. Friday is too late for HAM.
FATE OF THE FELLOWSHIP - taught L with the introductory scenario and we beat it by the skin of our teeth with some fortuitous card draws. A great looking game with a useless dice tower (alas).
Phillip IV lost his army and his life in Damascus, but the Mongols destroyed two Mamluk armies to clear the field.
Today’s foray into history - KINGDOM OF HEAVEN. A what-if scenario where the crusaders agree to an alliance with the Mongols for a last desperate chance to kick the Mamluks out of the Levant in 1290.
Teaching SETI to L today (on a borrowed copy)! If she enjoys it I’ll have to rummage up a copy somewhere (it already passed the test w 15). I read about the expansion and it sounds like exactly the sorts of things I would be looking for (asymmetry and variety).
Even more #yomi - Midori splits against Rook, 1-1. I miss his giant throw, but the dragon is a wrecking machine.
Today’s adventure - SETI - searching for intelligence cos there ain’t none around this table 😅
YOMI is back, and uh it actually is better than ever. I liked the first version well enough but I think the new and revised mechanics are a smarter representation of fighting games without losing the basics of reading your opponent. Plus I could never pull off combos in Street Fighter!
