Finally got to see the movie adaptation of Project Hail Mary. Great version of the story. Kept all the charm of the book and managed a lighter tone without feeling unfaithful to the source material. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I buckled at the weekend and ordered the thing. It came today! I’m hoping it’s doesn’t end up in the pile of unpainted shame (the marine side might!) but we’ll see how it goes. #40k #warhammer

If the branding isn't important to you, it's a fine alternative to the EA Sports machine for some quick, fun, football action. It's just about more responsive enough that I probably prefer it over the recent EAFC incarnations, but it's a variation on a theme, rather than something new and fresh.

I do appreciate the slightly more 'arcade' feel, but the fundamental flow of gameplay feels *very* FIFA. I get it on an accessibility level as they probably want it to feel familiar, but part of me does wish that we could get a football sim that wanted to break those molds, not just tweak them

World cup fever led me to check out GOALS over the last few days. It plays pretty well and I've had some fun finding my feet. I do wish it wasn't so clearly taking the FIFA / EAFC mold and reworking from there, as it has inherited many of the mechanical gripes I've had with EA's effort for years.

Kitbashes and weird stuff? I got you! I have entire armies that fit that description but this is one of my favorites from my Nurgle Ad-Mech army conversion.

Today’s visit to the stadium is for the Stockholm derby against AIK so the atmosphere is a little extra.

I do though have the same issue with Forza that I do with the EA sports games like Madden and FC. I seem to exist between difficulties, in that if I go down one, I invariably win each race, but if I go up one difficulty level, I lose constantly. Never play enough to actually get better.

This jump in an early off road race just feels like the dev team flexing - 'lets make a vista where we render the entire map' (it's actually about half of it, but you get the idea! It's a hell of a view, and a neat flex that absolutely gives you a cool sense of scale.)

Forza Horizon 6 is a gorgeous arcade racer. I'm terrible at the actual racing, but as is tradition in Forza Horizon games, it still lets me have a ton of fun racing around it's Japanese / Tokyo inspired map. When you can play on the highest graphical settings it is exceptional.

Can a game work as pure, unadulterated, 100% vibes? Mixtape would suggest the answer is yes! Wonderful little game. Tight, beautiful, great voice work, and the soundtrack stands up to being at the core of the experience. Really enjoyed it.

Kick off delayed 30 mins due to train issues getting folks here, but those here already seem in good voice.

Cup Final day here in Sweden so a trip to the national arena to watch our Hammarby team take on Mjalby. Got nosebleed tickets in the literal last row at the top of the stadium, but we’re here!

Got to play through the opening sections of Replaced this evening. Gorgeous looking 2D side-scroller. I'm old enough that it reminds me of games like Flashback. The controls are a touch clunky in places, and the combat simple, but the vibe elevates it above the sum of it's parts for me.

Had an early breakfast meeting in the city so got to enjoy the blossoms at kungsträdgården in some crisp morning sun earlier. They don’t bloom for long here, so was nice to get to see them.
