I suppose I'm a bit picky. I'll try most things once, unless I am very certain I won't like it even before trying it. Some of these "kinda" highlights are because I want them prepped very specifically for me to like them. Some of the "don't like"s I used to like, and then my palate changed!

This is all I have left from the early years, because my best friend still had it amongst a pile of old things from then. Kit from '04. No Vale, because all his art was digital and I had a big ol' HD crash that deleted everything and made me rage-quit art for a good while. Back up your files! 📁
My piece, versus what someone decided to make with it. All he seems to have done was take out the horns and shorten the ears, he may have used AI or may have edited it down himself, because so much other areas are identical still. This person also just has my unedited piece on his profile.
These are the reference photos, which I admit, I did loosely trace over for the sake of getting a sketch underneath to work with. ¯\_ (ᵕ—ᴗ—)_/¯ I also need to fix which leg Circe's pouch is on, I forgot to flip the canvas back.
There's an alternate version of the pup picture where they're closer to canon in that they're pale with only barely-showing markings. I don't know if their eyes start blue when babies that get color later, but it looked weird to have their adult colors, so I tinted them bluish.
Oh, long necked birds and their postures. I love when pelicans do a neck stretch and you can see their entire neck. It's so fun to show people when pelican talk comes up and see their reaction xD
Oh yeah I'm aware of these guys, very much so, I don't think these became public knowledge until... like ten years ago, when they resurfaced? I'm talking about my own experience over the years before all that. Some of the beta designs were WEIRD, like WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH BETA BAYLEEF.
He does bring up that exact study in the video within the first minute... xD He references it a few times throughout for the whole concept! I don't think he was trying to claim credit for the idea, or doing a proper study of his own, just doing something to riff on that concept for his YT channel.

I also wanted to work in the plant growth I've occasionally drawn on Kit in the past into this. Usually originating in her mane, but it will come from other spots as well. Is it her blood? Something just innate to her form? Who knows!
