My blog on my Sashiko experience is now up on my site! I'm a complete beginner so if you've been wondering how you'd get on with sashiko but have held off on trying, this might be a helpful read for you! Plus I'll be linking all the resources I used to get started. <3 sirithre.com/learning-sas...
I recently spent some time organizing some of my craft supplies. I wasn't sure how to store materials for crafts I don't do very often but don't take up a ton of room. But these bins turned out to be a great size for my materials! Not fabric or thread tho. Those items take up the REST of the room
Whether you're a bobbin person or a floss drop person, I've got you covered! If you're new around here: I sell thread label stickers! I've taken the time to research and make sticker labels for TWELVE different embroidery thread brands + Mill Hill Beads! And I have plans for more 👀
The backside of my cute little leafy heart design! Yep I totally trailed my threads for those little white highlights. Absolutely no shame. I generally test all my designs myself and I have a limited amount of time to do so. So, y'know. I save time where I can. You can't convince me otherwise.
How my Artfight 2026 is going so far~ Team Tragedy. I've done basically an attack a day and been having a blast. Mostly pixel art, but I've gotten a few cross stitch attacks in. These are just my favorite so far. If you'd like to see more of this swirly pixel style: artfight.net/~sirithre
Update on how I ended up storing my perle cotton balls! I picked up these drawers from Facebook Market place years ago. I cleaned out the bottom drawer, got some custom acrylic dividers made to fit my drawers and managed to fit two balls to a divider! In rainbow order, of course. ;)
This month's Patreon cross stitch pattern is this heart-shaped leafy piece. Because I'm already yearning for the cool days of autumn. I gotta do *something* to get me through the hot season, so channeling a bit of fall leaves is one way to do so. 😉
Since I'm attempting to channel fall vibes early, may as well remember this mushroom fairy circle hoop I did a few years back. A very fun little piece that would be perfect for personalizing with a quote, name, initial, or something else in the middle!
It's WIP Wednesday! And I'm working on... autumn leaves? It may be summer, but I'd rather it wasn't. 🤣 So if you don't mind, I'll be channeling fall vibes now, thanks. Hopefully it'll help cool me down Do you stitch ahead of the seasons, or follow the seasons? Are you starting Christmas gifts yet?
Just a reminder hoop finishes don't have to be boring! You spent a whole lot of time on that cross stitch, may as well put some effort into the hoop as well. 😉 I've got an article of ideas for you, like a crochet pattern and how to wrap your hoops with fabric or washi. sirithre.com/hoop-decorat...
This silly lil' guy is now up on Etsy if you too would like to stitch it! He turned out cuter than I had imagined, definitely a win. :)
I usually do these recaps at the end of the year with everyone else. But this year I wanted to do a halfway check in. At least with what I've released publicly anyway. ;) I've stitched both less than the last few years, but more than I expected. I'll call that a win.
I haven't made much progress on this Halloween EPP project, but I did find this snack container at Aldi. Unfortunately the wells are not quite tall enough to hold the hexies vertically, or the top just pops right back open. Does anyone have any suggestions for better containers to hold 1" hexies? 🤔
Just a reminder that jewelry organizers also make great thread hangers. 😂 This organizer had wire mesh on the right for earrings. So, I cut a piece of cardboard to size, wrapped a cross stitch around it with a bit of batting and.. slid it right into place. Now I have my own floss drop shrine!
Oops I skipped summer and went straight into channeling fall colors. Hope you don't mind. 🤣 July's Patreon cross stitch pattern is gonna be this bright range of reds, oranges, yellows, and greens. I can't wait to show it to you!
I've been craving some Watermelon lately. It might be because I've been using this lil watermelon needlebook in my cross stitch couch kit and I keep seeing it. 🤣
I haven't had much time for personal projects, but I did start a quilt project. It's a triangle quilt! I only have a couple rows done so far. But it's pretty slow going since I'm doing it all by hand! Why? Why not? This one's just for me.
I know some people don't like getting 'extras' with orders as they can feel wasteful. But these lil bonus stickers have a very important purpose! Peel testing! The little tiny bobbin stickers run the risk of ruining a whole page if I try to peel check to make sure has cut the right depth. So...
In this month's episode of 'wtf do I DO with these now', here's some older cross stitch designs that have been sitting in my stash for ages. Do I just plop them in a frame/hoop? Do I make them into like, lil sachet bags and fill them with potpourri? How would you finish these?
This month's article is all about biscornu! But not how to make them; there's already a tutorial for that on my site. But instead, how to embellish them and make them your own! Whether that be festive tassels, cute charms or beads, fancy buttons, or anything in between! sirithre.com/biscornu-emb...
Aaand here's the backside of this month's pattern! Yes that is in fact the same fabric. It's actually printed fabric, so the backside is just white. It's always so weird to see. I swear I gave myself a lil jump scare each time I flipped it over to secure an end or something, lol
For the curious, still on my Sashiko floss adventure! I've started this fun project with incredibly Siri-coded colors and am quite enjoying the process! I plan to have a video up next week about what I made though if you're interested.
Remember this folio? I made it as part of my blog / video on project bags. It's been about two months now and I'm still in love with it! It practically lives on my couch stitchy spot and houses 2-3 projects at a time. I'm definitely getting some use out of it!
Throwback to this gorgeous piece based on Dragons and Beasties' Zen I did a few years ago. I've got the little figure as well and he sits right on my desk keeping me company as I stitch. This was great practice for converting digital art to cross stitch, I don't do it often enough.
Creepy wip! Been a while since I did a 'creepy' wip like this, as I don't do a lot of characters. But it's always fun to get that partially stitched in face without eyes or in this case no pupils. Idk, it's been a rough week and I'm tired. Have a half-stitched bat cat. 🤣
Ever made a biscornu? They're actually really fun to make! It's as easy as stitching two squares together with a little offset. There's a full tutorial over on my website, either written on video. sirithre.com/biscornu-tut... Later this month I'll be sharing different ways to decorate your bisc!
These Herbs are now up on Etsy! 32 total herbs, flowers, or mushrooms from Azeroth are included in this bundle! Pattern also includes guidelines to make it real easy for you to swap in your favorites or expand the grid and stitch them all! :) sirithre.etsy.com
