FINE y'all shamed me enough (I admit self-shaming to manufacture motivation) now they're markdown with YAML frontmatter of readings, date, location, etc. + scripts to render them to PDF, track word count (and estimated delivery time), make a new one with readings auto-populated from USCCB.

I at least have useful metadata in the file itself; not ideal but substantially better than nothing (so I'll probably write a script to yank out these datums into something more properly structured)

ok, doing this regularly enough now that I need to start getting more serious about a better naming scheme...

This is pretty solid, and these two points really get at the heart of the matter. It acknowledges that software projects are *communities* just as much as they are produced products. LLMs cannot meaningfully participate in a community, and that distinction needs to drive how their output is seen.

Anybody know the trick to get Google Maps to *stop* defaulting the globe view? This box is always unchecked, but it still does it until I check-and-uncheck it. (Yes, I know Mercator is garbage, but *really* prefer to have predictable movements when panning instead of manipulating quaternions.)

I just spent two days at a monastery in Big Sur — no cell coverage, no wifi, just natural beauty and the rhythm of the monks' prayers; it was exactly what was needed for rest and thanksgiving after the whirlwind of ordination. they also had a sci-fi lookin' chapel that I thought y'all might like.
