excerpt from Roald Dahl's *The Twits*:

Why would that happen? I'll tell you why.

The book's layman explanation is that light exerts a very tiny amount of force on things. Not enough that you'd notice in most settings, but it's not nothing. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiati...
