Give Christopher Nolan full control of adapting this and I'll be first in line to go and see it.
Don't mind me, I'm just gushing over how much I've missed seeing Masamune Shirow's style in 2D animation. Watching this new Ghost in the Shell series & seeing this expressive version of the Major has me feeling like a teenager again.
I'll see your Science Saru adaptation of Appleseed & raise you a new adaptation of the Tank Police. We really need the Puma Twins to make a comeback.
I'm a huge fan of the work of Jean 'Moebius' Giraud, everything he created was pure psychedelic imagination. His work in comics such as Blueberry & Alejandro Jodorowsky's The Incal are some of the best examples of bande dessinée.
This really hurts... To list everything that Sam Neill has done would be too much given how much of an impact he's left behind. Godspeed to a true legend of cinema 🕯️
Horror & Westerns. Both genres can accomplish a great deal when they mesh whatever they've got that's going on and so far we've made two really good horror westerns. Why don't we have more of them? The sky really is beyond the limit when you combine these two genres together to make something.
I would have loved, LOVED to have seen the third & final Activision Transformers game where the story takes place on earth, reinterpreting elements of G1 & raising the stakes a lot higher just like War for/Fall of Cybertron. But this is nothing more than a pipe dream now, we waited too long.
I haven't thought about this since I was a kid, it's just not the kind of film you see talked about that much anymore. #NowWatching
After seeing the first episode, I think we're going to get along just fine. Everything about this is off to a seriously solid start & it's definitely going to get better from there.
I'm only an episode into Goodbye, Lara & it's gorgeous. This is an anime that feels like it was pulled out of the 90s right down to it's look & minimal colour palette. Everything about it is so damn good. Apart from that, it's something ORIGINAL for a change. Can't recommend it enough.
Concept art for a cancelled film adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s Foundation trilogy directed by Roland Emmerich.
Concept art for the unmade 1990 Sci-Fi film Isobar, directed by Roland Emmerich. Described as "Alien on a train" starring Sylvester Stallone.
Let's not forget Dan O'Bannon's contribution to this. We talk alot about Return of the Living Dead, Dark Star, Alien & whatever he was gonna do with Alejandro Jodorowsky on Dune. But The Long Tomorrow deserves a big mention alongside working with Moebius. Seriously this comic rules.
I'm excited to see this series getting adapted, but I'm disappointed that it's not an animated series. The work of William Gibson would just suit animation so much better, just look at this piece by Juan Giménez. You could have adapted it in this style.
Mike Reynolds. If you grew up on anime during the 80s & 90s chances are you've heard him in things such as Dogtanian, Robotech, Crying Freeman, Teknoman or even Power Rangers. Mike Reynolds was always there to voice an old man in some form or another. One of the legends of anime dubbing.
This is but a small fraction of the Physical Media that I own. The need to find more & own more becomes apparent with each passing day.
