The Home I Find With You is a standalone novel that was a Bisexual Book Awards finalist. Its tropes and elements are: polyamorous romance, hurt comfort, a post-collapse rural town, queer found family, and a polycule HEA. The cover shows three white people, two men and one woman, in earth-tone clothes. They are standing so close together that as my teenager put it, they don't look like business colleagues.

Speed of assembly is determined by how much time my hip joints are willing to let me spend sitting on the cold tile floor pinning rows together, in a way that absolutely was not the case 28 years ago when I started quilting. 😂 But I've never set blocks on point before & yay it's working!

Two small hand-sewn creatures. The ethereal being on the left has rainbow tentacles for hair, long spindly black arms, seven yellow eyes, and a grumpy mouth. Gretchen on the right is green with ears that look like leaves, small beautiful flowers embroidered on her body, and two pointy teeth. She had a very fierce expression for defending her garden, which also somehow looks like a completely scandalized expression and I find that hilarious and adorable.

Well, that's my 42 Block A's done. This quilt is coming along faster than I thought it would. And bwahaha the Block B's can be completely chain pieced, no partial seams!

4 stacks of square quilt blocks, each stack is a color: red, purple, blue, green. The center of each block is a black square with the bright color fabric around the outside.

Got most of the ironing done for the first quilt project of 2026. Now I have to go buy (checks notes) 3.5 yards of solid black to go with these. 😂 In my entire multi-decade sewing life I don't think my use of black adds up to 3.5 yards, this is gonna be fun.

Collection of fabric neatly ironed and laid out. Colors are green, red, and there's a bit of blue and purple showing out from underneath because I ironed them first so they're on the bottom. Some swirly prints, some geometric, and some botanical.

This is a very funny prank I'm leaving for my son to discover in his manga shelf. (I used post-its, no books were harmed.) (Yes, I'm excited he's going to home tomorrow for three+ glorious weeks. I know none of y'all could tell so I'm just being clear.)

I love purple fabrics. I have bought purple fabrics often since I started quilting in 1998. I have never before seen color catcher sheets come out this dark from prewashing. 😵‍💫

Two pieces of fabric paper, called color catchers, by Shout, that you put in the wash to catch excess dye bleeding off fabric. They are deep violet.

Very soon, this quilt will be at a stage where I never have to iron it again. That will be a wonderful day. 😂 (I actually quite like the ironing part of quilting but this is 81 blocks and the blocks each have 18 pieces in them. So. much. ironing.)
