I got 10 seeds from the heritage seed library for Suttons Early Giant #pea. Nine germinated, and were planted at my #allotment. here is the result from the first pods. Great! 🫛 I’m going to let it provide seeds this year and grow a bigger crop next year. #UKGardening
This nut bowl and unusual egg cup are the first things I have made with my pottery course. I know they are simple, but ‘I’ made them. I have also made a cup and plate, so I may have the complete set for breakfast. 😀
It takes a year to grow purple sprouting broccoli, but my God… it is worth it! #allotment #UKGardening
The ones I loved were the Brazil nuts in chocolate. My new tradition is to now make my own every year. Cheap, handmade chocolates. 🤌 Everyone a winner.
Visited RHS Wisley today by coach. It was lovely to see all the autumn colours. Even sat into the odd talk, and visit tropical greenhouses. I had to treat myself to some plants to bring home.
This is the first time I have ever seen a strawberry ripening in my garden in the #UK in September. #gardening #climate
This has to be the best cucumber I’ve ever grown outside on my #allotment. #UKGardening #VegetableGardening #GrowYourOwn
I removed 6 paving slabs to plant an Apple tree. While clearing the stones and roots, I found a number of small items quite deep. Shells, glass medicine bottle, terracotta pot fragments, a fine cup handle and bones. I hope they are not human. 🤔
Caught an image of this lovely Red Admiral butterfly this morning. I should have breakfast in the garden more often. #flowers #gardening
Spent the day at the #Knepp rewinding project. What a lovely relaxing place.
The robins are so tame down the #allotment when you are digging the soil.
My local community garden invited me to make a #wreath like I did last year. I put it on my gate and it’s a really welcoming thing to see when I get home. All natural and some of it from my own garden.
Having a break for 6 days in Sweden. 🇸🇪 What lovely autumn day. At some points in our walk, there was not a human in sight. That’s a rare thing these days.
I’ve just come back from my allotment with this lot. That’s my shopping done. 🥬
The #BBC #weather app is having a technical glitch where it shows #hurricane force winds in sunny #Worthing of nearly 10,000 mph. It just goes to show that any app or server can experience bugs. I bet #developers somewhere are frantically fixing this.
Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #1,554,252! just parking this here. 😉
There are a lot more anti-facist protesters than #FarageRiots thugs in #brighton tonight. I picked the wrong night to go to a freelance meeting. Got home safely though.
Fiction novelette: Bangkok 2136. Despite enforcing a no drone zone, pollution is still rife in the city. If only they listened sooner, we wouldn’t have to live underground. It’s your lung, your choice!
Tourists rarely use the water taxis in Bangkok. It’s much nicer than a road taxi or bus. Plus, it was only 14 baht (35p) for 5 stops.
I never stop being amazed that I can pick veg nearly all year round from my allotment with a bit of planning. November treats.
I created a terminal command written in #Swift. It takes in my bank statement CSV files, detects purchases, and automatically sorts it into one of 16 categories for my accounts. It outputs a CSV file or to terminal. It will save me hours every year, and it was quite fun to build.
