A little history Wednesday. In 1940 comedian Gracie Allen ran for president on the Surprise Party ticket which featured a kangaroo as its mascot and the slogan “It’s in the bag". Allen suspended the joke campaign a few months before Election Day but was endorsed by Harvard University’s student body.
