In my defense, I’ve been up since 7. I just don’t check the news immediately.
This is describing a really specific kind of experience tied to things like class, disability, etc. It’s not universal at all. Most people do not sound like they’re “absorbing the language of management” because most people aren’t management and will never be management.
I am so jazzed @themountaingoats.bsky.social is back at the Fillmore.
I’m at the Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee today if anybody wants to come say “hi” in person.
This bit has had me thinking all day. I’m not sure sexual orientation is private — The acknowledgement of same sex relationships isn’t as medicalized or legally/procedurally complex, but other people treating gay relationships as legitimate *is* asking them to do a lot.
The kicker on the NYT coverage of the new IACC is embarrassingly bad. “The chelation vaccine hyperbaric oxygen gluten people represent us more than ASAN or Autism Society” is just brain worms. How is that the last word on a panel filled with kooks and quacks?
We spent our honeymoon in Japan over NYE and ever since then, I’ve enjoyed making some traditional Japanese foods related to the new year. This year I had the privilege of making a teeny tiny bowl of toshikoshi soba for my daughter for the first time. #SupperClub
Me when @lollardfish.bsky.social gets a shoutout on @ifbookspod.bsky.social
Very excited to dig into my (digital) copy of @kristenklopez.bsky.social’s new book, Popcorn Disabilities.
I don’t want to put anybody on blast, but I do want to counter misinformation because I’ve seen this spreading around: If a Medicare Advantage plan drops an older adult, that older adult automatically gets regular Medicare. They do not lose health insurance coverage.
