so I put a plant on top of the blue bookshelf in my living room -- which is a risky proposition considering the last time i had a high up plant -- and I thought maybe he was languishing up there but I glanced up the other day and he’s got a whole new sprout sticking up. perhaps i am good at plants?

he's still shy around new people and the apartment buzzer sends him skittering away to hide, but he has to join every zoom call i take. he likes to lie on my arms while i'm writing, always as close as possible. he weighs like 16lbs but he still wants to be on my shoulder as much as possible 😂
cayde was my first foster fail. in 2021, he came to me ~6 weeks old and so, so shy. he hid behind the toilet while his siblings slept in my lap. i made it my mission to bring him out of his shell. his siblings got adopted, and he was left behind. it was still COVID times and we bonded hard.
