Brewers fan, Bucks, US Soccer and I guess the Packers as well. Math nerd: elections, policy, statistics etc. That's me in a nutshell
@cyrthogg.bsky.social perhaps a talking point for one of your next pods... I was looking at wRC+ vs DRC+ for the Crew. Here is the top 10 in PA sorted by DRC+. I, for one, was shocked that Sal was at 103!
Have to go back a ways. 2021, but that was a weird COVID draft that had 5 players who were even in the league by ‘25. Arike might argue about 2019, but at the time it was Jackie. Before that I think it is pre 2010 at least.
@rdtopp.bsky.social pedantic, I know, but Andrew Vaughn joined the Brewers on July 7th. From July 7th on, the best hitter on the Brewers was Brice Turang: .298/.370/.519 for a 147 wRC+! FIVE NINETEEN! (also wild that minimum 70 PA everyone but Perkins and Joey was > 110, 11 guys!)
The Brewers used to be a darling of PECOTA with projections exceeding pundit expectations. Since the Arnold takeover, that has... shifted. Anything to that? Did you stop putting your finger on the scale (jk)?
Could this have something to do with it? Perhaps the Brewers internals look more like DRS or DRP and think Joey helps at 3B, but is kinda mid at SS. Let Jett take over SS and then Joey can pick it at 3rd. Worst case, Joey still doesn't hit and 3B is A LOT easier to upgrade than SS.
Sam Miller listed Christian Yelich as a 50/50 HOF guy currently. That is not to say he is there yet, but rather a 50% chance his end of career gets him to HOF, 50% it doesn't. Kind of interesting how close they track too. Harpers 8th-11th best season are 1 WAR better each.
Take the source for what it is, but it is also true per news.sportslogos.net/2025/12/04/m...
Have a hard time believing they’re replacing the Navy script Milwaukee, since that was featured in this years Kids Crew package. That means they will replace the grey Milwaukee road jersey.
According to his post-mortem, that is false. A November prediction would have been worse for Obama than the published October one. www.cambridge.org/core/journal...
@rdtopp.bsky.social you ever get a response about Yoho's 4-seamer? It seems like pitches with his movement profile are categorized as: If the movement graph puts it below arm-slot= Sinker (see M Leiter) If the movement Graph puts it at or above arm-slot= 4-Seam (see N. Eovaldi)
@fangraphs.com I sent an email, but I think something is wrong on this page www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.... the numbers don't add up (see below) and I doubt anyone thinks the White Sox will score 4.5 R/G this year.
Great article, eloquent close. Hilariously naive to reality though. Giannis could and likely will dominate tonight and no one will remember by Saturday.
