I'll be exhibiting this weekend at Zine Dream at Parkdale Hall (Queen & Roncesvalles)! I'll be selling books, zines, and ephemera. Aug 15, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. See you there! (Poster by Rylee Hollis)
BlogTO titles are always special, but this one? They make it sound like it’s either super exclusive or super racist.
Omitting vowels is a trend that needs to stop! But somehow, a U snuck its way in there. Hello from the WST TRNT RLPTH.
There I am hosting a quiz show at BIG on Bloor Festival some other year! I’ll be running my weird hyperlocal trivia again this weekend, Bloor and Brock, Sat and Sunday July 18 and 19, 1 to 6pm both days. Come by!
Someone’s belongings got stuck inside a Sunnyside pool locker—now the staff labelled which ones actually work. Nice colours! Here’s a small bit of the long wall of lockers. Maintenance is not part of the City of Toronto’s vocabulary. 🏊♂️🔒 (cc @toronto.ca)
I asked for an uncancellation of the July 1 morning lane swim and they uncancelled it! Sometimes things work out!
The yellow arrived and I finished the colourful corner at Dufferin and Geary! It’s impossible to miss it!
I ran out of yellow so I’ll finish it early next week when the shipment of yellow arrives. It’s getting there! The design goes all the way around the corner up Dufferin.
I first made this installation at Geary and Dufferin in September 2024. It lasted through two winters! I’m taking it apart and putting it back together. My bicycle holds all the supplies, plus trash bag. Stop by and say hello, if you’d like! I’ve been asked to finish this by Saturday. Stay tuned…
They closed Strachan and I couldn’t get through with my bike. What a terrible decision to close this entirely—on every game day? Who decided this was a good idea?!!!
Got out of the subway and saw this sign and was hoping I would run into the letter A. There was no A! #A
A desire line in the exact place where we had a north to south path through Bloordale Beach, and prior to that the exact north to south path through the school parking lot. Some things never change! Bloor to Dufferin Mall! The should’ve just paved it!
Bikeshare van thinks it’s a bikeshare bike, or else why would it be in the bike lane?! #identitycrisis
A second notice of violation appeared saying the motorcycle garden was “fouling” the street and that “flower pots cannot be placed on the road way.” Prior, the flower pots had been placed on the motorcycle. Now they removed the motorcycle and left all the flower pots on the road way.
The @depthsofwikipedia.bsky.social show was a lot of fun! I'm so glad the beach made it in there. Thanks to CT5555 for the Wikipedia entry on Bloordale Beach. Photo by @bananafitz.bsky.social.
Bloordale Beach is one of the quirkiest CanCon Wikipedia pages, according to @depthsofwikipedia.bsky.social. Thanks to my mom for spotting this in Toronto Life, and for sending photos.
I thought this was the 83 bus stop since it used to be when I was there just 3 weeks ago. The yellow stuff makes it look like a bus stop. Google thinks it’s a bus stop. It looks like a bus stop. It is not a bus stop anymore. I only know this because the bus didn’t stop.
I embroidered a couple of local (Bloordale/Bloorcourt) characters for this show. You’ll never guess who! The show opens tomorrow.
Is he finally turning on the stoplights at Dupont and future Wallace Emerson CC or just playing with the wires?
Thank you, Toronto Sun! Come by 420 Roncesvalles for the last three days of the Museum of Bad Gifts.
The new tunnel under the Allen at the station formerly known as Eglinton West (Cedarvale!) is a crazy maze! It’s quicker to cross at street level.
Why get rid of the CafeTO sign when they would just have to put it up again next year?
