Were you on the Swartz Bay to Southern Gulf Islands Ferry recently?

We need your help, BC. Has anyone lost this beautiful pink donkey? 🫏💖

They were found on the Salish Raven on Thursday July 16, and we suspect they may have been left behind on an afternoon sailing from Swartz Bay to the Southern Gulf Islands.

In the meantime, they’re making the most of their adventure by taking in the sights, enjoying some soft serve, doing a little light reading, and they’ve even made some new friends in Passages. 💕

Canadian company Moment Energy has opened Megafactory 1 in Vancouver, the world’s largest facility dedicated to repurposing retired EV batteries.

Instead of recycling old batteries, the factory converts them into energy storage systems for power grids, hospitals, factories, and AI data centers.

Many retired EV batteries still retain enough capacity for stationary energy storage, extending their useful life and reducing waste.

The facility aims to reach 1 GWh of annual production by 2030 and create more than 100 skilled jobs.

As more EV batteries reach the end of their automotive life, projects like Megafactory 1 could help meet growing electricity demand.

This week YouTube sent me down a rabbit hole of hummingbird fountains so I built a solar-powered one because "they'll go crazy for it". At this point I cannot confirm any species of bird will "go crazy for it" <sigh> Maybe in the heat of summer they will appreciate my efforts. Ungrateful dinosaurs 😂
