Sociologists for Palestine
@soc4pal
Sociologists for Palestine (S4P) is a democratic and plural collective of sociologists who support the cause of Palestinian liberation. sociologistsforpalestine.org
It was an honor to listen to @darializaforny.bsky.social's wisdom as she engaged in conversation with @nickocchiuto.bsky.social: "As sociologists what is the point of studying society if we're not going to be active members in it? Care is at the heart of what we do." #BoycottASA
Close to 300 sociologists showed up to demand a democratic ASA! Members have a right to vote on resolutions that have followed our internal democratic process for inclusion in our ballot. Resolutions related to Palestine should be no exception! #BoycottASA

She continues "ASA relies on enormous amounts of volunteer labor to function, and we serve gladly because we are a member association; that work may become less attractive and more difficult to justify if the association morphs into a corporation and continues its undemocratic practices." 5/
