JULY 15TH: But I'm a Cheerleader really beautiful movie. gay as hell, obviously. the score *really* had my ears.
JULY 14TH: Friendship Bracelets - GUNS cod what a fucking album. literally just tune into this one it's only 18 minutes or so friendshipbracelets.bandcamp.com/album/guns
JULY 14TH: DEAD · AIR this was a vn game jam entry my friend worked on but it's so long that im counting it for the thread. 26000 words of really good writing alongside really good art and really good music. builds dread excellently, mind the content warnings holy *shit* mind the content warnings
JULY 12TH: Slayyyter - WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA EVERYTHING THEY SAID WAS TRUE THIS SHIT IS GAAAAAS. SECOND SONG MADE ME TEAR UP A LITTLE FOR SOME REASON IT'S AWESOME
JULY 7TH: Injury Reserve - By the Time I Get to Phoenix This album is fucking insane. i struggle to think of anything i could even compare it to- this album dips into some crazy and almost kind of *terrifying* sounds. extremely effective.
JULY 5TH: CAKE - Prolonging the Magic listened because i like never there and never there is, in fact, the best song on the album. the rest is pretty solid stuff too though
JULY 1ST: McKinley Dixon - Beloved! Paradise! Jazz!? i definitely prefer magic alive but dixon does not miss. really good stuff
and thus the front of the year comes to a close. 144 on the dot. been fun so far; let's see how the back half goes.
JUNE 30TH: Outer Wilds - Echoes of the Eye some of the puzzles are noticeably more scuffed than anything in base game but the ones that aren't are literally the coolest thing ever. and it's well worth it for the additions this makes to the story, ending especially. wonderful dlc.
JUNE 30TH: Sheena Ringo - Shōso Strip very good album overall. had parts i liked more than kuri no hana, had parts i liked less- id call kuri no hana more consistent but this one definitely had high highs
JUNE 30TH: She Wants Revenge - Save Your Soul pretty fun four songs! last one didnt land that hard but good EP overall. i should bite into a full album outta this band sometime
JUNE 28TH: Gold Celeste - The Glow cod. this one was so pretty. very very nice stuff
JUNE 28TH: Moloko - Things to Make and Do delightful album. first song had me incredibly hooked and the rest did not disappoint.
JUNE 27TH: Arctic Monkeys - Favourite Worst Nightmare i dont have much to say that was just some damn good rock. i fw arctic monkeys
JUNE 26TH: Flobots - Fight With Tools i knew handlebars for doctor who reasons and it's probably still my favorite off the album but fuck the rest holds up to its standard well
JUNE 26TH: Sweet Trip - You Will Never Know Why oomfie was streaming this in a vc to review it and i tuned in early enough to hear the whole thing. really good album that pulls out a lot of sounds i wouldn't have expected it to. likely something i shall revisit alone for funsies
JUNE 25TH: Deltarune Chapter 5 the worst complaint i could levy at this chapter is that it didn't feel like it pushed things overall forward that hard- even when it technically did. with that said Ohhhh my cod some of the best spectacle any chapter has had. Incredible stuff.
JUNE 24TH: Goodbye, Eri Oh my cod. Incredibly good read, and one I'm glad I did physically. Probably gonna rattle in my head for a *while*.
JUNE 24TH: Kim Petras - Detour i lowkey forgot how this ended up on my docket but it's pretty heat. definitely the kind of thing id eat up
JUNE 24TH: Tierra Whack - WHACK'S MUSEUM damn solid listen. fun stuff!
JUNE 22ND: Black Dresses - LOVE AND AFFECTION FOR STUPID LITTLE BITCHES yoooo they made this album for meeeeee Yeah it's really fucking good
JUNE 21ST: Girls' Last Tour i watched the first four episodes a couple years ago, stumbled, and only now finally came back to watch in full. really good show that hits the vibe it's going for, like, *perfectly.* sometimes you really do just have to make friends with despair.
JUNE 20TH: Rick and Morty Season 8 ok that was really good actually. last episode especially
JUNE 14TH: Buckshot Roulette WON THE FIRST GAME I EVER PLAYED BABYYYYY then i got a first loop down in double or nothing after a few tries (which i did then throw away immediately) and then i did a 1v1 match of online that i lost because online is kiiinda bullshit incredible atmosphere good game
whenever you post about this comic it feels like that one diary of a wimpy kid bit
JUNE 8TH: The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act i think tadc can have some really bad pacing issues with its emotional rambles and stuff and this movie definitely carries that problem a lot. that said still had its Really good moments. esp the surreal bits. i like how it wrapped up overall
