It's my birthday today and I've been spending it out in the the rocks and trees of northern AZ, but am logging back on to say - y'all rock. It's been an intense and tumultuous year, but I've met a lot of great people this year and that's made it worth it for me 😊 Here are some rock pics:

Thank you everyone for coming on this journey! Honorable mentions to the San Gabriels, the Appalachians, the San Fransisco Peaks, and the White Mountains. If I am in a location, I *will* find the nearest mountains, and that is a promise.

I was able to do some fieldwork in the Himalaya ten years ago and it must be said that my terrible iphone camera could NOT do them justice. They really are on another level. Unbelievably large and incredibly beautiful.

Anyone who's met me in real life knows that I love Tucson, and won't shut up about the Catalinas. Please visit the Catalinas, you won't regret it!! (But maybe wait until September).

The mountains of Norway are also excellent. Incredible glacial sculpting and excellent peaks. I think of them all the time. These are from a few different locations across Norway, but I loved them all.

Obviously I have to include the Alps. What would I be doing if I did not mention the Alps. They are very good. That includes the French Alps, the Swiss Alps, the Dolomites, and more. I love it all!

Another mountain range I'm a big fan of is the southern Cascades. Incredible volcanic diversity, and the place where I learned a LOT about climbing:

Spending the day trying to get back on track after months of near-constant traveling + ultra training, and thought I'd do a thread of some favorite mountains. As a true mountain fan, I think all mountain ranges are good, and I've seen a LOT of them. Start with my true favorites, the San Juans:

So excited to have finished my first 50 mile race high in the San Juans! I’ve seen a lot of mountains, but there are by far my favorite. No better way to spend 16 hours 😊
