Dammit. Even the 70mm IMAX Theater in Sacramento is SOLD OUT for every showing of the Odyssey.
Well, I’m not handicapped, but I might be tempted if those seats weren’t ALL the way up front or ALL the way to the back. And this is for the 10:00 PM showing, which would end around 1:00 AM.
One of the 70mm IMax theaters has a 3:00 AM(!) showing where all the good seats are taken! Three O’clock in the morning!
Yes. The docents said it’s one thing to get briefed on it. It’s another for the retired bomber crews to actually tell you this. In person. At the air defense site that would’ve shot them down.
Oof. I would worry. Just from the possibilities of what could happen. Especially from talking to the docents at the historic Nike-Hercules air defense missile site, who manned the site back in the 60’s.
Anyway, found out there is a “Rate my Chives” account that grades how well you chop chives based on cut, color, consistency, etc. So, decided to chop chives for potatoes and…nailed it? LoL.
Trying the Akeza coffee thta came in the mail for pour-overs. Definitely tasting the baking spices, not so much the danish or blackberry. It’s slightly “spicy”, hard to describe. Good change of pace.
Finally trying my Hualalai Kona coffee from my trip. Doing a pour over to better taste the flavors. Notes of plum & caramel, not so much the hibiscus. Subtle flavors, I see why the Japanese tourist love this.
Finally. Project for finance done, reports for mid-year done. Time to get a drink.
Mom took me to lunch at Nico’s. Got the pan-seared ahi tuna with furikake (Japanese dry seasoning for rice). Doesn’t look like much, but tasty & cooked nicely (medium-rare).
Could tell something was going on by how liud neighbors are yelling, but didn’t know it was this
Been there, photographed that. It’s a short, but troublesome, hike. It’s loud and one of the most unique waterfalls I’ve seen.
Finally. Got a new Colombian coffee, washed process, so trying different temperatures for the pour-over. Instead of 195-196F, trying 189-190F.
Watch out, because I think this is their best one & someone might get a surprise 🤣
Decided to try their savory dishes, but almost got the peach tart. Maybe next time.
Ouch, I feel attacked 😆. Stopping by the artisanal bakery and checking out their birthday cards while in line.
Moved desks. Across from someone with this sign on their’s. Buckle up, cause next week is going to be a ride. LoL
So many choices and so little time. And they’re out of baguettes (on a long holiday weekend with Bottle Rock the next valley over? Go figure). But the cards keep me laughing.
Gosh, I love farmer’s markets. Finding out berries are in season, as well peaches & necatrines (also know as (a.k.a.) stone fruit since the seed is like a stone).
dang, my bad. I make a great chili: toast my spices, ground in a pestle & mortar, add a good amount of aromatics, char & peel the skin off my my peppers, slowly simmer so the meat absorbs the flavors, & finished w/toppings of your choice: cheddar cheese, sour cream, chips. Guess I’ll ban myself 😆
LoL, I ought to get this for someone’s birthday just in case I need it, but *sighs* did not. Maybe another time. There’s always next week.
Aha. Lowering the water temperature makes that fancy subscription coffee better. This is a lighter Chirinois coffee from Peru, MUCH tastier when brewed at a lower temp 194F/90C than 208F/98C.
