And as always, here are sketches & exploration concepts. The concept phase here was very long, as the client wanted to explore several ideas for the piece
I previously designed a Banshee, but I had problems with it (problems including the pic being in 72 dpi RGB because holy heck I am NOT smart). The new one is 100% printing-prepared. I will also refresh the old design, but I wanted to draw a new one, to free myself from the constrains of old concept
This is a mantis fairy I sketched for a private client. This one was a bit of a challenge, but I hope in the end it works <3 I love it when people come to me with their own bug characters #sketch #art #sketchbook
And here are some closeups (this is still not 100% size of the piece). 300 DPI CMYK so long is enormous and I wanted to make sure it is best quality in print, so I painted on 2x zoom
There is no good way to post it (art too long) This is DM Screen I painted for Adventure Calls Entertainment (ACE) company. This illustration is ~110cm long and I spent months painting it. I got tasked with painting a group of bug adventurers #illustration #ttrpg #dnd
Hah ^_^ With these two I've been sitting down and sketching their designs for a long time before I sat down to painting The brief was quite detailed and I wanted to make sure I'm getting everything right. We also had several tries with the concepts, to make sure I get the client's vision correctly
This is an illustration n of an ancient deity conceptualised and painted for a private client. This was a partial character design work, as I received a pre-owned design. They are pretty different from each other, but I thought it's good to know #art #fantasy #horror #illustration #characterdesign
Here's the second Weeshee I drew. They are elves based on glowworms :3 This one is definitely creepier but it also shows the anatomy better. It's part of a series of my bug elves, which portray playable species for my D&D 5e setting. #dnd #sketch #art #characterdesign
And here are theh closeups showing each of them! Sylas, Firgalioin (unicorn firbolg) Druid Ignis, Seeva (half-elf fetch) Cleric Percy, the Hobgoblin Bard Nori, Brunaidh (mouse gnome) Rogue
And here are the sketches and character explorations I did! The client picked the top left sketch but asked me to introduce different colours to the design
Here's a halfbody art of a Siren/Water Nymph named Rhea I painted as a commission. This was not a character design, more like a light re-design of a pre-existing concept
I got some extra free-work time in between commissions so I started working on the next Bug Elf for the book. This is an elf based on a glowworm. I wanted to make them cute and whimsical, but I started getting ideas midway shape study and I ended up with a haunted skeleton :V #sketch
And for those curious, here is how the dragon was made step by step, from early sketch to final postproduction
Hi hi! I remember a few of you really enjoyed this dragon, so here's the finished version! I was tasked with doing a creature design of a dragon with two heads but one head at the same time. This is what I came up with :3 #digitalart #dragon #art
