Well, this is an old thread, but eh. For me, I think I'd pick Murder Falcon, by Daniel Warren Johnson and Mike Spicer. It's badass and funny, but above all, it's poignant, tender, and hopeful. In 40+ years, few stories have made me cry, especially in the past 10 years or so. Murder Falcon did.

Just remember: what this world needs is LOVE AND PEACE! (I couldn't pick just one, sorry! There were other possibilities, too, but I decided to both be strict and forego manga and also just go with the top 3.)

Way too dificult to narrow it down, but I followed my heart and picked those that sprung to mind without too much thought!
