The summer of storms continues. Another round of severe weather expected across the region tomorrow.
Four days of smoke. I did this by stringing together the initial state of the HRRR model, so these are model estimations, not measurements. But given HRRR's initialization is, in part, based on real measurements, should be pretty close to reality.
Satellite shows the heaviest smoke sitting across Pa., the Philly region, South Jersey and points south. Conditions in NYC and North Jersey are improving. In Morris County, where I live, the haze and smell have largely dissipated. Updates here: www.inquirer.com/weather/air-...

Quite the swath of damage reports made to NWS from last night's feisty line of storms -- almost all wind damage with gusts over 70 mph reported. My yard, and my neighborhood in Morris County, are both pretty trashed. Severe weather possible again tonight.

One resolution that's moving: Naming June 10 Christina Grimmie Day. It passed the Senate last week. Grimmie, a budding singer from Marlton, was killed by an obsessed fan in 2016.

Guys, the weekend forecast is for near constant rain and temperatures rarely exceeding 60 degrees. There are few more effective youth crowd control measures. I think nature's got this one.

A nice thing about NJ’s database: Permissions are outlined. Always view/photograph from a public space, but in most cases, the owners of trees on private property have agreed to publicly list the locations.
