If ChatGPT is your lifestyle brand, you’ll love the Codex Micro! It’s an officially licensed accessory. But you’re paying for the logo, not exclusive functionality. Chris mentions the Elgato Stream Deck, which costs far less and is far more capable. This or a Stream Deck + would be far more useful.
WOW. You are not kidding. I have Chromes on my Ibanez Mezzo, and the nylon .88 adds flavor I didn’t know I could get. You just gave me a new bass.
I got a couple variety packs of guitar picks, and they’re blowing my mind. It’s like playing a dozen different guitars.
Anyway, I got this 512 Audio Skylight microphone on clearance. I don’t like the shock mount that came with it, so I tried my 17-year-old Samson SP01 spider mount. I’m in love.
I made this thirteen years ago when Sears was going through a rebranding phase. I mean, if you’re one of the most comfortingly normal brands ever, just remind people to go to your store.
The Atlassian Confluence documentation system now has a “Listen” button that can speak the words on the page, but the default audio is an AI “briefing,” not straightforward text-to-speech. Technical writing now requires anticipating not just human readers but an LLM that rewords what you’ve written.
According to JCP&L’s outage map, 11% of their customers in New Jersey have a power outage.
The teaser link seemed a little less manipulative. The phrases, FYI: Tell me more [about that]. Take your time. What do you think? Good point. I hadn’t thought about it that way. How can I help? Thanks for bringing that up. That makes sense. No worries. Things happen. I’m here if you want to talk.

Saturday-morning Sid and Marty Krofft show: Scatman Crothers and his puppet friends teach emotional literacy and conflict resolution between young people and adults by magically appearing with gentle lessons in empathy for others' perspectives. Title-card screenshot from an imaginary VHS recording:
Got a custom gig bag for my 1986 Roland Alpha Juno 2 synthesizer. Built like a bomb suit, fits like a glove, custom-embroidered, handmade on the family-run shop’s own sewing machines in Santa Rosa. And they threw in this gorgeous pearloid guitar pick. I want to fill a pool with them and swim in it.
In the process of customizing a band-aid for a shaving nick on my ear, I have inadvertently established my Star Trek character appearance thing.
My new classical guitar case makes my 2024 Yamaha C40 look like an antique heirloom.
I was going to joke about the quotes, but this is a textbook-quality example of the usability concept of “affordance.” Even if that’s an accidental byproduct of clumsy translation, I respect it.
I pulled out my copy of We Should Improve Society Somewhat and noticed that it’s 8″ × 9″. The new book, clearly its ideal companion volume, will be…8½″ square? @glennf.com, is this a magical paperback size? You perfectly matched @tomtomorrow.bsky.social’s previous book size…which happened to be 8½″.
But it embodies the 1980s-Banana-Republic aesthetic I desired: utilitarian, earth-toned, a bit rumpled, soft to the touch: hand-made by someone somewhere, thoughtfully, intentionally. With that unexpected perfect black interior presenting a museum piece. I might need to sew on some travel patches.
Bonus details! The macramé zipper pulls. It’s a nice bag, but I can see why it was discontinued after a year. It fits my slim Ibanez SR bass like a glove, and that means you wouldn’t even be able to close the zipper with a big Fender-style bass stuffed inside. There must have been lots of returns.
