It’s been a minute! Finally got a little hobby time and I’ve been committed to trying to finish these flawless blades. The off-white basecoat in the second pic will have pink painted over it. #wip #miniaturepainting

Flawless blade chaos space marine mini for warhammer 40k. It has alternating black and pink armor panels with silver and metallic purple trim and gold decorations. The skin is a sickly blue-green. There are decorative flowing cloth bits painted a dark red with white slaanesh icons freehanded on. The eyes and feeder tubes are an acid green color.

The figure stands on a rubble-strewn blue-gray base with a ruined stone imperial eagle. The color of the base contrasts heavily with the colors on the mini.

The third flawless blade mini, in progress. Several armor panels have an off-white basecoat which will then have the pink gradient painted over it.

Something I’ve been doing in the background is cleaning up 3 ebay fiends, but it’s been so much work! Scraping through layers and layers of thick primer and superglue.

Some pieces of a fiend of slaanesh, disassembled and partially stripped. While bare metal shows in many places, others have a layer of superglue up to 1mm thick (especially around the joints).

Messing around with some more frostgrave / oathmark kits. I thought the gnolls would be bigger then a generic humanoid but they’re a bit on the small side. The orc heavy infantry kit is fantastic! #nerdlings

Put a bunch of time into these plasma coils, but from a normal viewing distance the whole thing just looks like it’s dark blue. There’s a lesson in here somewhere… #miniaturepainting #nerdlings

Small hobby WIP: I realized I was avoiding working on the DP because I didn’t want to use the shoulderpads, so I finally committed to leaving them off and sculpting over the holes in the shoulders / finishing the straps with milliput:

wip wednesday (as if all my posts weren’t wip…) #nerdlings I’ve made my peace with painting the terminators mostly black and silver, with pink accents. I’m not sure about the TMM-all-over scheme for the noise marines, the reflections seem overwhelming. So I started another one that’s just magenta.

A noise marine for warhammer 40k, painted with vallejo amethyst purple armor with silver trim and copper shoulderpads. I finushed the base and added some teal OSL coming from the front of the figure that also catches a bit of the loincloth.

Little update with the assemed gunner

The same rhino / razorback conversion as before, but now the hatch with the combi-bolter is fully assembled with the gunner.

I made a plasticard adapter for the razorback hull part so that it can fit a rhino top hatch! Now this rhino can have a bigger number of loadouts. #nerdlings #warhammercommunity

A closeup of the razorback top section that comes with the rhino kit. I wanted to get the most out of the kit parts, so I cut a section of plasticard to match the raised bit with the large hole and cut a smaller hole into it so the rhino hatch with the pintle could fit into it.

In 10th ed 40k, a rhino can have 2 sets of pintle-mounted weapons and a havoc missile launcher, which is all pretty hard to model on the kit at the same time. This gets it a bit closer to that reality, while also allowing me to set it up for much older editions.

Evening painting… the interior of this rhino and whatever this guy is. #miniaturepainting #nerdlings

Plastic rhino from warhammer 40k, seen from the rear and with the top piece not yet glued on, so that I could paint the interior. The inside is a very dark purple, the seats are magenta, and the console has many pink and green lights and buttons. Two large monitors show the view outside the rhino, showing a red sunset over a gray rocky landscape with ruined buildings in the rear view. The door to the cabin is black and features a large icon of slaanesh and also a good deal of wear from the door retracting sideways into the hull.

A noise marine body that has been converted into some kind of champion, with a plasma pistol and power claw. The head is from the lord exultant kit. The armor is a dark blue-purple with magenta mixed in for some soft highlights. The loin cloth is a dark red to bright orange/yellow gradient, using the same paints I used to paint the sunset in the previous pic. I wish I had given this guy a screamer pistol instead, so he could fill in as a lord exultant / kakophanist where needed.

finally !!!

warhammer 40k termagant from 3rd edition with devourer painted in a white scheme with dark purple-maroon armor plates. I think it’s hive fleet kraken? The devourer is painted like the box art these days - the weapon body is more reddish and the lump with holes is more purple.

A resistance frigate and cruiser from dropfleet commander. Both are in the process of being painted in a red and black color scheme, with the frigate being further along. The frigate has accent lines in grey, weathering, and blue and yellow lights / weapon markings.

Three warhammer 40k chaos terminators, all WIP. The one in the middle is the furthest along. They have dark purple-black armor, pink accent panels, and gold trim.

A WIP terminator with newly-painted pink shoulderpads and pink hip plates. The gradient is mostly pink potion with a bit of spellbound fuschia and a tiny bit pf moldy wine to add some reds to the lowest points.
