Ah!! I did wonder. But isn't that what most of them wear...?!
I think that they may have watched too many TV dramas and think that every church permanently contains a vicar, just waiting to have a pastoral conversation while sitting uncomfortably twisted round in a pew.
Yup. I have started collecting them in order to make exactly that point.
Oddly enough, I got something slightly stronger about an identical situation: maybe it depends on how transphobic the complaint handler is...
🚨 BREAKING: The Labour party are useless at everything, including lying. Can't believe I voted for this toxic binfire of a party. Won't be making mistake again
Okay, so at least it now starts with her name rather than her husband's, but they still think that her being married with kids is more important than being Bishop of London, the third most senior post in the CofE.
Hey @news.sky.com any chance you could fix this sexist binfire?
...to reflect on the beauty of God's creation and the Christian call to be stewards of it. The "journalist" who wrote this knows that perfectly well. This is a great appointment and I look forward to seeing what Bp Leah brings to the role.
Typical crap from the @churchofengland.org about women in ministry. The bishops piously suggest we shouldn't 'mirror negative elements of wider culture' by treating women as 2nd class, when the CofE is EXEMPT FROM EQUALITY LEGISLATION in order to enable us to discriminate against women. Fucksake.
Nope, it's not... As is often the case, Dr King put it best.
I have had a reply to my complaint to the BBC and they have changed the article! Tiny victories...
