I’ve posted about this little patch of grass before. Relentless mowed by the parish council, there are a surprising number of plants. See ALT text #StillFlowering #WildflowerHour @wildflowerhour.bsky.social
At first glance there is very little #StillFlowering but take a closer look and there’s plenty. All this (and more) found on a 1.5 mile walk around the outskirts of my Dorset village. See ALT text. #WildflowerHour @wildflowerhour.bsky.social
A monthly visit to Swyre churchyard in Dorset. It’s a wonderful place, managed for nature, and here is most of what’s in flower right now (plus a few other bits and bobs). See ALT text #dorset #churchyard #wildflowers 17/7/26
Thanks, that makes sense given that I found it in a (slow) off shoot of a chalkstream here in Dorset. Just realised I didn’t include any photos of leaves.
Happy to find this Brooklime in flower for #wildflowerhour #AquaticPlants I always think the scientific name (Veronica beccabunga) sounds like a Roald Dahl character ! Found in a slow moving Dorset chalk stream. @wildflowerhour.bsky.social
A wonderful Water-crowfoot (Ranunculus sp.) for #wildflowerhour #AquaticPlants found in a slow moving Dorset chalk stream. Crowfoot ID is difficult - see ALT text for more info. @wildflowerhour.bsky.social
Purple-loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria) at its peak and looking wonderful along the River Brit in Bridport this morning. 10/7/26 #wildflowers
This young Roe Deer was so engrossed, feeding right by the path, that it didn’t see me coming. Phone pictures 9/7/26 Dorset.
