I've worked on various things and rant about technology. He/Him.
Google is so increasingly desperate to push their AI features that it got rid of my search button.
A small quality of life feature I wish Codeberg took from GitHub is how attempting to edit a file in a repository you don't own auto-forks the project. Makes opening pull requests easier.
What do you mean there was a flip phone that could play Ridge Racer and Katamari with tilt controls
A great note from @melonypepon.bsky.social's Doom fanfic archiveofourown.org/works/89394291
What a funny way to address Woody Theory. #Deltarune toby.fangamer.com/interviews/c...
Filtering AI images on Pixiv took weeks to figure out. It requires filtering JSON data sent to the browser, and if you filter it wrong the site errors out. Facebook and Google are also a pain because they use scrambled class names.
Had an issue where my mic couldn’t be used due to privacy settings. Trying to open the privacy screen crashed the settings app. Restart my PC, and apparently my entire Windows install is screwed
...are you saying a Pokemon fangame is partially responsible for Nintendo losing a patent tied to their lawsuit against Palworld?
It's crazy searching something and seeing the only results be my own code and someone reposting the code I wrote.
Updated the AI blocklist to block the URL Google uses for AI overviews. Now instead of just hiding the overview, it can stop responses from getting generated in the background.
Facebook telling me I can't opt out of their data collection anymore...
I used to have this problem when working remote where my mom would interrupt for something short, and I’d have to explain how much that threw off my workflow.
Reddit is doing summaries for subreddit discussions now. (Presumably via AI?) r/NintendoSwitch is summarized as "Disappointment with Mario Kart World and Metroid Prime 4". Those games came out 6+ months ago. In reality, most posts for the past week have been about the last Nintendo Direct.
Fixed an issue where images Pixiv tagged "original" were getting incorrectly hidden. You can force a filter update in your settings if you don't want to wait for an auto-update.
Finally got AI image filtering working on Pixiv. This has taken up 2 weeks of my life.
I signed up for a free trial of Google Workspace to test some AI filters before cancelling. Now, Google is emailing me about unpaid invoices despite me cancelling. I can't login to the account, so I have no way of paying. The "Contact Us" button doesn't work because I have to login first.
I'm starting to feel like JSONPath was designed to be confusing on purpose.
I hate that Google's solution to checking if an image has their AI watermark is to ask their AI tool. Like, we *know* AI tools cannot reliably identify AI generated content. Why the hell would you encourage that behavior, especially to people who are presumably *TRYING TO ESCAPE AI CONTENT*.
Google’s AI reports the correct amount of Ps in Google now. Only for it to get the number of Ps in “Google play” wrong. Every time you fix one AI problem, something else breaks.
