The Delaware General Assembly is close to passing HB 131, which would stop the sale of puppies in pet stores. Let’s get this done in New Jersey, too!
We’ve doing some light reading, aka going deep into the published research on puppy mills and pet store puppies. This study found puppies from pet stores are more likely to be aggressive and have house training issues, likely due to stress from the puppy mill and transport to the store.
Last night the Nevada state Assembly voted to ban the sale of puppies and kittens in pet stores. That bill now goes to the Nevada Senate. New Jersey, let’s do this!
Here is a Democrat Assembly member, Carmen Morales, who cosponsored the humane pet store bill while pandering to pet stores that sell puppy mill puppies. @njassemblydems.bsky.social are actively supporting puppy mills now! November is coming.
The humane pet store bill (A 4051) was supposed to get a vote in the Assembly committee tomorrow. That has been canceled. The leadership of the NJ legislature seems to be beholden to a handful of puppy mill stores. More to come! Elections are in November. Change is needed in Trenton!
Furrylicious got puppies from this mill. Now Senate President Scutari and Assembly Speaker Coughlin are making sure no legislation passes that would slow down the flow of puppy mill puppies into NJ.
