Artist. Story Teller. Pro Creature/Character/World Building Concept Artist. Mostly games. Mostly rpgs. No ai. Fuck ai.
The morning sketch with a little OJ. (Its damn hot out). Berry foxes and cedar mice. *She stole the pencil twice. I obviously was playing with it wrong. *real red Huckleberry like to grow out of old cedar stumps. See comments.
Quote with your Gloomy Art! (The gloomy part is she finds ut easier to spend time with the dead than the living.)
One of the many many snakes around my place. All harmless, unless you are a rodent or frog. But it is always shocking to me how fast the larger ones move. Such unique creatures. Arms and legs are for suckers.
Original tabaxi sketches for 5e. Hard to believe these are over a decade old. If i did it again id probably just make them fat house cats .
Speaking of the new ghost in the shell... the gits comic had a cameo of the puma twins. I would like to see this scene in the new show. Fingers crossed.
Little fun this morning before the slog. A little too cutesy, but decided to post it anyway. Like the new gits anime. It's wild seeing Shirow's old style animated again. It's a little hard to follow because of how jumpy the director's style is. Curious if they will keep up the frenetic pace.
Portrait source: Its a boggle. From D&D. One of my favorite monsters. Also one of the few 'painted' illos I did that I actually liked.
Thanks ^^ Its a bit of a 'controlled chaos' situation that suits itself well to exploration. Really keeps me from 'locking in' too early. Its evolved a bit over time, but it goes something like this:
Another concept from Spell Jammer. I just love his little smoking jacket. One of my favorites.
Rough explorations for a Spell Jammer wizard I did for D&D years back. She had a bird problem. She did make it into the book though.
Always love a good art share: Concept artist that lives in the woods with his cats. Mostly post personal work and the occasion old DND stuff from my time at WOTC.
I get a lot slugs in my forest. Like 1000s. Mostly banana slugs. First time I spotted a Pacific Sideband snail though. Kind of a cool looking dude. Big too. Not as big as the slugs though. Im pretty sure if I trip and fall the slugs will devour me within 24 hours.
Maybe... The vita was a real gimmicky system. The back touch screen was super weird, and they were trying to copy the smart phone OS style systems. It really was abandoning the sony PS aesthetic I think, and they weren't offering any stellar tech upgrades. and Visually: The PSP was more sexy.
I try to keep a version of my initial thumbnail somewhere visible. For me, that energetic quality is really important, and something that can be lost while exploring detail and structure. It informs the soul of the concept and shouldn't be set aside for pure information. WIP - #conceptart #sketch
Strange druid in the woods- making monsters to devour... well- everything that needs it.
I watched a lot of Harryhausen as a kid (they played the greek myths a lot on TV in the 80s). Definitely a big influence. But the Winged Devourers from Beast Master... they hit me with the perfect mix of fear and fascination to my young brain. Still powers my imagination to his day. Terrifying.
SGW here. I live in the woods with a bunch of cats and sometimes draw bunny girls. And monsters.
The fidelity feels a lot higher. Makes since if you have a nice rig though. Ps5 photo mode:
Drop Something Purple: (start wearing purple wearing purple.... dahna na na nah!) Many years ago, a DND designer asked me in a meeting: "I want to know what an elder brain would look like if it got a hold of a dragon". My proverbial beer was held and I got to work.
Goth world day dark celebrations. We druid types always feel the goths are our more fashionable and social cousins. And remember, much like wild animals, admire from a distance and don't bring them home. Especially the pretty ones.
