Here's an exciting thing that happened recently. I say, "exciting" — let's be clear, this is a very nerdy and specifically Sherlockian level of excitement. I bought the book in the picture, 'Stimulating Medicine,' on-sale from BSI Press. The sale is exciting, sure, but that's not the only thing.
I'm still reading up on older Sherlockian adaptations for my Watson essay, this time in the book 'DEERSTALKER!: Holmes and Watson on Screen,' by Ron Haydock. This was published in 1978, and prints of Gillette's #SherlockHolmes film weren't discovered until 2014.
Welp, now I'm in a bind. I'd meant for my next video essay to be a history of Watsons on screen. I was really excited about it. And then I remembered that I had even more books about Sherlockian adaptations than I thought, which means that there's even more research that I need to do...
I don't like editing myself in recordings; I never have. So it's terribly ironic that I'm trying so hard to make it in a career in which I HAVE to edit myself. My one consolation today? My lipstick was REALLY on-point. Not to sound vain, BUT LOOK AT THAT RED LIP. Why don't I do this more often???
Oh, I think this is the best selfie I've gotten since I grew my hair back out. 😊 (Well, aside from the one in front of "Starry Night," that is!) This was taken AFTER recording both a reel AND my next video essay.
We have gone from "incredible weekend" to "FML." 🤦♀️ Can't I just sleep in peace???? I don't want to go down to my basement — it's cold and there are big spiders down there!

Mission accomplished: I have hired a tax prep company to handle my newly-complicated taxes! It’s a small, two-woman business, and I really like them already. I was able to go in and have a consultation and get questions answered, and it was great! I feel really good about this. 😊
Paczki may not be particularly healthy, but they make me very happy. 😊 Also, the difference sleeping with a fluffy new pillow makes is incredible! First time in three days that I didn’t wake up with a headache!
Stressed and depressed, but my hair was on point today, so we’re taking that as a win. 😅
I know, Netflix, I know! Believe me, I'm dying to get back to it — I just haven't had time! #thewestwing
On the fifth day of Christmas, we finally have snow again. I can’t believe that after having almost a month of snow and frigid temps, it all melted right in time for Christmas, and now that the big day itself has come and gone, we’re back to winter. 🤦♀️
Cards have been sent, gifts have been given, dinner has been eaten… and all in all, it wasn’t bad. Hope you had a good Christmas! ❤️💚
Needed to do a little bit of gift shopping, took the new dress coat out for a spin downtown. 😊 It’s pretty much like wearing a fancy blanket, and I love it. 😁 Also, check out the sky over the lake! We’re gonna get more snow yet, I’m sure.
This is why I stay OFF OF THE INTERSTATE when it's snowing. #winterweather #puremichigan
#Christmas has arrived! 😊 (Look, I lugged this tree up from the basement and assembled it and then strung it with lights all on my own. I am feeling accomplished. 😁)
I made this for a college assignment, 12 years ago. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows was still recent, and the last episode of Sherlock was "The Reichenbach Fall," so I went all out on a "Final Problem" theme. I always did want to make a magazine. 😂 #SherlockHolmes #Sherlockians
The days are darker now, so I needed (emotionally) a little more light in my workspace. (The window directly faces my neighbor's house, lol, and I'm also not right in front of it like I have been right in front of windows for the past few years.)
I have a couple of other books that I’m reading, but I decided that now was a good time to throw one more into the mix…
The lake was GORGEOUS today! I mean, look at all those colors! Plus, the wind, the waves, and the clouds all felt very autumnal. #LakeMichigan #PureMichigan
Ok, hear me out. A Lord of the Rings re-make, but with these two taking the One Ring to Mordor:
I stayed until there was very little light left. I love catching a sunset, even after the sun has set, as it changes.
