Did you know that March is Long COVID awareness month? I didn’t and I have a kid who has it! She’s one of 5.8 million kids in the US that have Long COVID! it’s not as cool as it sounds.
Just so you know: I have a show of large magical drawings on view at The Center for Cartoon Studies. Gallery is open Monday-Friday, 9am-2pm 🐺🥬 This is the work I’m most proud of right now!

Went to MoMA today and happened upon a very familiar Brancusi sculpture—Helen Hokinson drew it for The New Yorker! I almost jumped! 💘✨
I don’t know who needs to hear this but here goes: In high school my art teacher told me I didn’t know how to draw because cartooning wasn’t real art. I have wanted to be in The New Yorker Magazine since I was 19. I’m 53 and this happened yesterday:

4 years ago my 12 year old daughter, newly vaccinated, healthy and energetic got the Omicron wave of COVID and has never fully recovered. For some, Long COVID is a long but temporary experience, for us it is ongoing. She turns 16 in 2 weeks. We are still here and still learning.
