Two small tomato plants 'Tumbling Tom' - upright rather than 'tumbling'. Leaves ar a bit limp and discoloured but almost red tomatoes and green tomatoes look perfect. In a long plastic planter in from of a glass door with faded wooden frame.

I think these are ready to harvest. They're about 8cm across now. Summer Sunburst patty pan squash. Tomorrow's 'dinner' perhaps? #UKGardening 🌱

Bright yellow little patty pan squash between the thick green stems of Squash' Summer Sunburst'. They look like little yellow pies with a crust crimped around the edges.

They just pop up all over the place in my garden. These ones grow up through a rambling rose & honeysuckle 'next' to my path. Do I want a path or blackberry crumble.....urmmm 🤗 #UKGardening 🌱

But oh dear...what has happened to my squashes? 😢 Is this a virus or a nutrition deficiency? #KGardening 🌱

A squash plant with lots of green leaves. 2 of the leaves have bright yellow veins. The lower one still has green around the veins but the leaf near the top of the picture is almost completely yellow. Near the centre of the plant a small yellow flower head of the fruit. There is grey paving at the bottom of the picture.

I thought my little Sunflowers were a gonna when their heads were chopped off by something - possibly a squirrel earlier this year. So I stopped paying attention until something yellow caught my eye near the bottom of the garden, late this evening whilst I was pottering. 🤗

The bright yellow petals surrounding the brown seeds of two small Sunflowers (Baby Face) in full bloom with 2 others partially hidden amongst the leaves. They are amongst leafy undergrowth of nettles & some small brambles. Picture taken just before dark.

You reminded me of the most useful cookbook that I inherited from my Mum. The plastic cover she made for it serves as wallet for recipes collected from food packets/labels & apparently a recipe I wrote down for her for 'my' fruit cake. 🤗

Part of handwritten recipe fro 'Sue's Fruit Cake to the right. The price 3/6 (3 shillings & sixpence) is written in pencil top right on the facing page.

Oh dear. They were fine last weekend. Didn't check until Friday evening as there was plenty of rain this week. My little Summer Sunburst squash. 😞 #UKGardening 🌱

Several squach leaves which are above the small developing fruits. The veins of the leaf in the centre are yellow. The green leaf is speckled with yellow spots.

Last year a stem on one of my Peonies snapped so I put it in a little vase. The fragrance was so gorgeous, I brought another one in last night. 🌱 #Gardenshour

Peony with 7 flowers in shades from dark crimson to almost white. The older the bloom the paler it gets. They will turn white before they go to seed.

The twigs seem to have kept off most unwanted visitors. Not sure if the small holes on the first pic were made by a cat's claw - or a bird's beak. 🤔 5 plants all with at least 1 tiny fruit & 2 (male?) flowers. Should I remove any flowers? #UKGardening 🌱

Trying to grow Squash for 1st time var (Summer) Sunburst. Last time I weeded, prepared & planted in a patch, I put grit down to stop slugs. The local felines decided it was a litter tray. Hoping the twigs will stop them this time. #UKGardening 🌱

Wider shot with 6 Peonies some fully open, some will be open in a day or 2. Lots of green leaves. Behind is an old fence with ivy peeking through.

And another plant to right of the other 2 views. 5 fully open Peonies amongst green leaves. Behind is an old fence with a bit of ivy and the start of privet hedge in semi-shadow.. The 3 Peonies to the left are lighter pink. This var opens deep pink/red then fades to pink and eventually white.

I'm thinking this is hedge bedstraw growing under my apple tress. Don't remember it being there before but I did clear out a lot of ivy & brambles last autumn which often allows something else to move in & have a go. Also woodland strawberries are up & about all over my back garden. 🙄 #UKGarden 🌱

Lots of lime green leaves and small white flowers. Flowers have 4 petals & grow at the tip of stems. Stems have several whorls of elongated leaves in cluster of 8. Spot a couple of pale purple herb robert flowers poking through in the centre!

Small woodland strawberry plant growing in grass. Leaf whorl grows in 3 with deep veins. Tall flower spikes with multiple flowers with 5 petals and a bright yellow centre. Behind is a bit of sedge grass - tall tough leaves with very deep centre vein.

It's nearly peony time folks. 🤗 They don't last long but I love mine as they're opposite the front door so are the 1st thing I see in the morning before going to work this time of year. #UKGardening 🌱

Peony mainly leaves but to the right a large deep red & green bud with smaller bed behind. 2 other green buds lees developed top & left. Old broken lattice fence in background.

Another peony which is to rhe right of the 1st one. Buds are still green but visible centre left & right. Old lattice fence in background top left.

A tall stemmed peony less bushy than the others. This one has multiple flower buds at the top of its stems. The leaves tend to have a bronze or more olive green tinge to them before maturing. There's a privet behind.

Front lawn - along with primroses I have a profusion of dog violets this year. Back garden - what looks like a mound of dog violets approx 1 ft tall. Not sue why it's grown upwards rather than outwards. Leaves are much bigger. Is it a different var or just not mown over? #UKGardening 🌱

Remember this? UK PM Liz Truss announced that 'everyone thinks I'm like Margaret Thatcher' whilst dressed as MT. A vote of 'no confidence' was carried soon after. She was forced to resign after 45 days in office. Isn't it kinder to remove deluded people from public office for everyone's sake? 🤔
