The world is very large when you are very small. A little sooner than planned, but such is the way of cats. Kodama, meet the world.
Happy 18th birthday to Louhi Philomena Hepzibah Rue, the runt of her litter, who makes up for a lack of size with an excess of sass.
This monster didn’t finish growing and filling out until he was almost 6. Like, buddy, you gonna stop growing? No? How about now?
We lost our 10 year old cat, Skugga, Monday to cancer 6 months after diagnosis. He had a fantastic summer murdering things on his walks (leashed. He was a murderboss). He got a last day in the sun. And there is a hole in this household exactly his shape.
I challenged my students to dress up for extra credit, and I lead by example. (Also I love collecting the expressions from students as I march across campus. Some smile. Some whisper. Some--the few also in costume--make eye contact and nod knowingly.)
National Black Cat Day! Tinycat & Murdercat share the cat-tree, a momentous occasion, b/c no one is hissing, biting, or fear-peeing because she's been pounced on by someone 2x her weight. (The very next moment, she started clawing the tree, and lo, those things came to pass, as foretold.)
On International Cat Day please have this slightly blurry photo of the kaiju in repose. #internationalcatday
Both of my voids had stripes as kittens. Now Tinycat is turning reddish w/ black points (she’s 17). Murdercat’s just black with a smokey undercoat.
