The scene has Annaro deeply frustrated with herself. Her feelings are strange, even to herself. Between you and me, its because she's developing a sense of attachment to Drew (not love, I'm not calling it love), and dealing with this other person makes her feel somewhat unpleasant.

She describes her feeling as a sense of pressure but also as something that is missing and needs filling. And given her somewhat feral nature, it should be no surprise, she's taken to "filling" that need with meat by chowing down on her "companion" in the moment.

In a sense, its bleak moment, but in another its Annaro trying to understand her own feelings more than she ever has before, which is progress for her in a few ways at least.

Panel 1: Annaro reacts to the stranger arriving commenting, "You're one of the freaks Calca keeps around... Do you wanna die?" Her tone is callous and uncaring. The second statement is not made in jest; she genuinely wants to know the stranger wishes to die, since it would not be uncommon for Annaro.

Panel 2 reveals the stranger's face and she speaks up saying, "Calca... They sent me... Said you needed assistance..." She seems a little nervous.

Panel 3 has Annaro standing up, her face twisted with annoyance; from various reasons. She doesn't like humans. She doesn't want to be around humans. But she wants to be with Drew. But Drew needs rest. Frustrations upon frustrations. She speaks up, strangely lucid, "Listen... I don't like you... But I'm not hungry right now."

Panel 4 has Annaro loom over the stranger; she is visibly annoyed and angry, "Consider yourself lucky and LEAVE."

Panel 5, has the unsurprising twist; the stranger doesn't care about Annaro's wrath. To merely be with her is joy to the stranger. She responds saying, "I don't mind that... You can... do whatever you want... I-I'm quite confident... um... I can pleasure... I can do anything you want..."
