A mystery to everyone | Everyone is special in their own stupid way #photography <- I do photography stuff sometimes too :) 30 he/him
I've got this really funny joke but it's only funny if you've seen the 1954 classic A Star is Born *twirls hair* It's only like, my 3rd or 4th favorite movie...
Found out the other day that the album Tennis put out last year is their final album and they're retiring
14) Orb of Creation As a fan of incremental games, this has gotta be one of the best. In fact, it's too addicting. If you want, there can be 0 down time in this game, which is kind of a bad thing actually. I've had to uninstall this game twice now.
For a while now I've wondered how to use all the trail cam pictures I've gathered online over the years, and I think the super high contrast b&w + double exposure stuff I've been doing lately works really well for it #photography
Urban Lights, outside the LACMA in LA. It might seem silly to say this about a bunch of lampposts, but there's a soft profoundness in seeing this in person that I can't quite put into words
13) The Ramparts of Ice I really think this has become one of my favorite coming of age stories ever. I read the manga up to about where this season ends, and this is just as good! The way Agasawa depicts characters feels so real, and I see so much of myself in bits of these characters
June's chart Oobopopop by Valaire is one of my favorite albums ever, it's just soooo much fun Tusk might have 0 of Fleetwood Mac's biggest hits, but man, as an album it's incredible King Crimson why are you like this Also listened to insaneintherain vgm covers and the Xenoblade 3 ost a bunch
12) Janis Ian: Breaking Silence I wasn't paying much attention until a song of hers came on that sounded eerily like a trip-hop song I knew, even tho what I was hearing was from the early 70's
11) Everest (1998) A beautifully shot film. It's hard to believe how commercialized Everest has become in the past 15 years, where now just very fit people can take on one of the most physically daunting challenges in the world. Also a reminder to me to finish the Summit of the Gods manga
10) The Count of Monte Cristo (2024 miniseries) You know when you eat a dessert, but it's a little too small of a portion, so you end up craving more and have to get a second portion of it, but of course two portions of it is clearly too much so you feel kinda bad after eating both? That was this.
May's chart This was a BIG Sonic Youth month. Murray Street is low-key, but actually high-key, one of their best albums, like top 2 Those two BOOM BOOM SATELLITES albums are so endlessly listenable The Deluxe Edition of Shame, Shame by Dr. Dog really turns a good album into an incredible one
When vinny did those "pick 2 albums of this early 90's year" thing the other day, I felt like I was going CRAZY because like, I KNOW my strike zone is more after '95 and on, with Radiohead & the height of britpop, but there were sooo few albums I liked in those picks. So since I'm me I made a chart!
The busy pair of house finch parents who've decided to raise their kids in our backyard! #photography #art #bird
9) Baby Steps Once a top 5 manga for me, but I never finished it. Now I have! Still peak. My favorite shonen sports thing, & it's not close. The analytical approach of Eiichiro's tennis, an individual sport, speaks to me. The romance is sooo sweet, & the panelling & movement is genuinely incredible
THEY HATCHED!!!!!!! Four hopefully healthy little... uh..... hairy sea urchins? Seems like they're a few days old from what I'm looking up :D
April's chart Courtney Barnett's new album is awesome Finally listened to Sweet Trip, and even tho knowing Dsco made me expect a really catchy pop album, I'm fine with experimental stuff too
8) Fool Night Fantastic, love the setting and the oppressive mood it gives everything, and the unique art style accentuates all of it. It asks a lot of questions that deserve to be asked and thought about, often without giving the right or any answer
7) Someone Hertz Cute and funny. I thought it was gonna be one kind of thing, but I was pleasantly surprised when it wasn't
6) From Russia with Love (rewatch) This movie is really just great. The whole time it feels like James is being stalked like prey, it feels like he's in the palm of someone's hand, playing their game. One of the best antagonists in the series. Turkey is beautiful The best credits intro by a lot imo
Ya know that house finch nest I mentioned the other day? Well I was sitting outside and her nest is really close by. I got up really fast, which scared the crap out of her, she took off, and I took the opportunity to grab a ladder and check out her nest while she was gone and LOOK!!! 5 pretty eggs 🥺
