I started taking pictures of my classes my very first year (99-00!!), and now here I am in 2026 and this book is all full of memories. Need a new book for these next few years! New teachers: do this. You won’t regret it. ❤️
And then we had our Showcase Day. 114 different kids and teachers came through my classroom in 3 class periods to cast votes for the projects, while kids served as "Tour Guides" and gave 2-minute pitches on their person's life and legacy. My heart almost burst 837 times. They did AWESOME. /10
My room was MESSY & CHAOTIC and quite loud. But you guys. YOU GUYS. The kids were working bell to bell, the second last week of school, creating and drawing and painting and hot-glue gunning and the word FUN was said MULTIPLE TIMES. Worth staying late to clean up and run around finding cardboard./9
27 years of being part of high school graduations, but this one hits different. Oh, my heart. He's off to do great things 💚

Student: "I wish I was born in 1976 or 1977" Me: why? Student sighs: "an 80s childhood & a 90s adolescence sounds pretty cool" Dear reader, it was. We had a TIME. Found this today & note the Chuck E Cheese sign begging politely "please don't smoke in the game room." At least they tried.
Last night I went to a candlelight concert where a string Quartet played an all Metallica set at the Cleveland, Museum of Art and let me just say it was exactly what I needed in that moment
Great conversations today in APUSH using @retroreport.org lesson on Andrew Mellon’s policies. Excellent primary source analysis! Pulled it into recent issues like potential of Warner Bros/Paramount merger and how that may relate to this historical moment.

Back to School sundae at Malley’s…kindergarten to SENIOR. That escalated quickly 🥹
