"Healthcare is a basic human right, not a privilege to be tied to your job, income, or ZIP code. It's time for us to build a system where we can get the care we need, when we need it, without fear, debt, or discrimination." 👏👏👏Taylor Cook for State House, District 43
Frustrated with money in politics? Well, I've got some bad news. The National Republican Senatorial Committee just won a case at the Supreme Court to make it easier for wealthy donors to influence elections.
These are the current officers of the Alabama Democratic Party. Reed and Kelley do all the hiring of party staff, sometimes including Ben or Ed. None of the other officers have ever been invited to a staff meeting or officer meeting nor been included in any decision.
Rudolph Drake is our Democratic Nominee for AL State Senate District 2 (Huntsville area). He served in the Navy and then in the Department of Defense. His priorities are affordable healthcare, affordable housing, and quality public education. Keep an eye on this one!
My first trip to the Alabama Democratic Party HQ after being elected Vice Chair a few days earlier. I took the photo, then left. I didn't mention that Chair Kelley had my ADP email account turned off that morning, and had a staffer call to un-invite me to Orientation that day.
Donald Trump apparently made more than $2.2 billion in 2025. That's nearly four times as much as he made in 2024. Most of it comes from cryptocurrency, real estate, and merchandise sales. The hat below goes for $55, profits go to him, not to our armed forces. Not cool.
What more could you want from your Alabama State Treasurer than an experienced & highly sought-after banker who is accustomed to dealing with budgets in the billions? Rosilyn Houston is a rock star and I can't believe we got lucky enough to have her on the Democratic ticket!
I love my country and my state. I love it enough to want the absolute BEST for it and to be willing to sacrifice for it. That means I'm willing to talk about its flaws because I think we can address those flaws. And I'm here to do my part.
All of Mobile is now in Congressional District 1, which means that you need to get to know your Democratic nominee, Clyde Jones! Ask him your questions, meet his team, and then JOIN the team!
I was elected Vice Chair of the Alabama Democratic Party on August 13, 2022. I ran for Chair and didn't win, but I was eager to serve any way I could, so I ran for Vice Chair. If I'd lost that, I'd have run for Secretary. I just wanted to be on the team and be able to contribute.
Pam Howard, Dem for House District 40 noticed the flag at the Public Safety complex was getting tattered after the storms, so she brought them a new one. Then she took the tattered flag to American Legion - Post 57 for a proper flag retirement ceremony. I'm proud to back Pam!
Alabama brackets are nothing but byes. No wonder most people aren't interested in politics.
If you vote Democrat, YOU ARE THE PARTY. If the party isn't what you want it to be, you have the power to change it. But don't expect it to be easy. Changing culture doesn't happen just by wishing, it requires hard work! (And I really want to PARTY with you!)
🚨🚨🚨 The bipartisan decline in primaries is correlated with a decline in democratic participation. This should ring alarm bells for everyone who wants a functioning democracy! 🚨🚨🚨
Jim & Brenda Toomey of Vestavia Hills have been married for 56 years. They are salt of the earth good folk, loving their neighbors in every way they can, including wanting ethical bipartisan governing that protects the middle class. This one is winnable, so let's get it, Jim!
If you're in the blue section in the middle here (near the Birmingham airport), you used to be in Congressional District 7 (Terri Sewell) and now you are in Congressional District 6 (Gary Palmer). No one else in Jefferson County changed districts. The Primary is August 11.
Debra Foster is one of our most experienced candidates running for the State House. She served for 12 years on the Anniston City Council, and she was the first African American to serve as Vice Mayor of Anniston. District 32 is an open seat after Barbara Boyd (D) retired.
Rick Pressnell is a Marine running for Alabama State House, District 2. He is focused on affordability: - Ending the grocery tax -Require the Public Service Commission to hold rate case hearings - Require data centers to pay the cost of their own electricity Sounds good to me!
Angela Morgan is running for State Board of Education in District 6. Where's District 6? Great question because the SBOE map is TOTALLY different than the Congressional map! (It has 8 districts instead of 7.) Angela is a retired educator and she is committed to improving parent relations.
The Alabama Reflector article undersells how big a shift we saw in this Primary Runoff. The whole state saw a 52% increase in Democratic ballots in the Primary Runoff, but the increase in the 5th Congressional District was phenomenal! Way to go 5th Congressional District Dems!
Most Alabamians don't vote or vote some of the time. But there are heroes walking among us who vote EVERY TIME. These people deserve to be recognized. Are you a SUPER VOTER?! Find out at www.tabithaisner.com/supervoters
Robert Hunter is the real deal. He reads to kids. He hosts break light clinics. He hosts community town halls to listen to constituents. He supports other candidates. He's serious about wanting to make real positive change for the people in his district. Hunter for AL State House, District 28!
Does it feel like there aren't many elections on your ballot? It's not just you. Only 1/3 of seats in the Alabama House of Representatives will be contested on the November ballot. That means that 2/3 of Alabamians will not have a choice in who represents them in the state legislature.
Pissed off about this "new" and "special" election for Congress? Pissed at the arrogance of changing the maps mid-election? Well, Chris Pringle (Republican from Mobile) was the author of that bill. So let's send him a message, shall we? Vote Joan Friedlander instead!
The Alabama Public Service Commission will soon have SEVEN members instead of THREE. Five of the seven are appointed by Governor Ivey. All of this because they saw that a wave of reform was headed for the PSC, and they had to protect their APCo overlords.
If you live in Congressional District 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 7, there will be NO Democratic Primary on August 11. If you live in Congressional District 1, 2, or 7, you CAN vote in the Republican primary if you wish. This is not considered "crossover voting." Perfectly legal.
The founder of the Madison County chapter of Moms for Liberty is running for A State Board of Education, District 8. Thankfully we've got Shatika Armstrong running against her! Our schools face real issues. Let's not waste time on imagined ones.
If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? Indeed we are more functional and more beautiful because we are not all the same. And that's how she & he & they... becomes WE. We are the body and we're looking damn fine! Pride is for all of us. #HappyPrideMonth
This young woman is FIERCE, but also kind. She told me, "Democrats don't only care about their party members. They care about the well being of the community. "If you are hurting, I am hurting," that is the morality of a good leader." Hazel Floyd for AL State House, District 38.
