i'd like to add more bullet hell-ish attacks to my game but i don't want to overdo it. what are some games i should take inspiration from?

messing around with a new project...
what am i exactly supposed to do when prototyping?

is there anything worse than wanting to show off your project but the ui looks super ugly

here's a clip of an old project of mine
i kinda want to make something like this again

throwback to the initial version of my horde game
i kinda miss how simple the enemies and backgrounds look...

been considering just turning my game into a grass cutting simulator...
#gamedev #indiedev

i've realized too late that i've made this game's artstyle way too detailed. adding anything new to the project takes an unbelievably long time.
at this point i'm considering redoing all the graphics to be simpler :/

been thinking about massively downscoping this project. at this point i'm still not entirely settled on the direction for the game and kinda just want to be done with it :/
#gamedev #indiedev

made the background brighter, now i'm worried about things looking too messy :/
...but maybe the chaos is good?
#gamedev #indiedev

maybe i should consider just making this game a coin collecting simulator

how do people usually achieve this dither/grassy looking effect? i've been just manually pixeling it, but there's gotta be a more efficient way than that right?
