#Venezuela has exported roughly 200 million barrels of crude oil and refined products to about two dozen markets since the capture of Nicolás Maduro on 2026‑01‑03. That is a 19% increase over the same period in 2025. The current volume is worth around $14–15 billion. #OOTT #Tankers
There's close to 60 million barrels of Iranian crude oil trapped by the US Navy blockade. That's nearly $6B in oil revenue that currently isn't reaching Tehran. There are still many vacant tankers available to take on more oil, but as oil production has declined, tanker loadings have fallen as well.
It appears that Russia is not going to try its luck at supplying Cuba with much-needed fuel amid the US-led fuel blockade of the island nation. After drifting for five weeks in the Sargasso Sea, the US-sanctioned, Russian-flagged Handymax tanker UNIVERSAL (9384306) has now deviated 1200nm SE.
1/2) The US Navy successfully blocked numerous sanctions violators off the east coast of Oman. In this visible example, the cargo‑empty Aframax tanker LEVIN (9293155), which normally transports a lot of Iranian oil, was pursued by a US Navy vessel after being redirected back into the Arabian Sea.
This LPG tanker, which is under US sanctions, managed to load LPG at Kharg Island, Iran, two days ago (2026-05-16) at 29.21431, 50.33619. She last pinged on AIS nearly two weeks ago off the coast of India and then slipped through the US Navy blockade line undetected. (ESA Copernicus Sentinel-2)
The US-sanctioned Russian-flagged handymax tanker PEGASUS (9276028) keeps going in and out of the US blockade perimeter, just out of spite. We have multiple satellite images confirming that this is not an AIS spoof.
An estimated 113 million barrels of oil are at the bottom of oceans within vessels sunk during WWII.
23yo Aframax tanker APPLE (9271327), which has been slapped with sanctions by the US, EU, UK, CA and CH, completely avoided entering the EEZ of Norway on the way to & from Murmansk, Russia. Now laden with 100,000 MT of crude oil. The fear is real.
Although it's not their latest locations, these are the latest satellite imagery sightings we have made of the Iranian-flagged tankers carrying crude oil. The US Navy went down to the Indian Ocean to redirect a couple of them back to Iran.
To prepare for the possibility of running out of oil storage space at Kharg Island, Iran has brought NASHA (9079107) out of retirement. She's a 30yo VLCC that's been anchored empty for the past few years; currently spending 4 days on a trip that should take 1.5–2 days. #OOTT
A National Iranian VLCC supertanker departed Iran in late March 2026 and swam on over to the Riau Archipelago where she transferred her 2 million barrels of crude oil to another VLCC. She then returned home via the blockade line. She’ll reach Kharg Island tomorrow. #OOTT
We last sighted Iranian supertanker DORENA (9569669) in Iran on 2026-04-13 just hours before the blockade and she has now appeared on AIS off the coast of southern India, where she is about to deliver 2 million barrels of crude oil to a refinery there on the very last day of the US sanctions waiver.
As you can clearly see in this 3 day long AIS playback since the blockade line was drawn between the eastern horn of Oman and the IR-PK border, a lot of the tankers which have been placed under US sanctions have been entering and departing the scene with ease. And those are just the ones on AIS.
