Just heard some commotion on the front porch and caught this robin fledging. I think the parent brought a berry over to the nest and dropped it over the edge as enticement
@kategrossman.bsky.social having fun with the garnish again on this La Rosita
@kategrossman.bsky.social is upping her garnish game. Check out the flair on this Autumn Negroni
Headed home to Raleigh today, but still got in one more hike down to the creek. Here’s my brother enjoying one of the many little waterfalls that we visited
Good day today. Went for another swim in the creek with my brother. Then my parents’ neighbor brought these over. My first time trying Westvleteren 8 and 12
The creek was muddy after some big rains, but my brother and I still enjoyed lounging in this natural jacuzzi at Sycamore Rapids
Hanging out with my family in the North Carolina mountains, can’t resist a daily dip in Laurel Creek (with @kategrossman.bsky.social)
Nice to have some cooler weather so we can get back out on the new screened porch (with @kategrossman.bsky.social)
Went out to site (Makounta-Voules-Mersinoudia, Cyprus) yesterday for some evening photogrammetry and caught this lovely sunset
10 years of archaeological fieldwork with @kategrossman.bsky.social at the site of Makounta-Voules-Mersinoudia in western Cyprus. These views on the way home in the afternoon never get old
Finished up a quick trip to London with @kategrossman.bsky.social en route to Cyprus. Managed to squeeze in some more excellent cask ales at the Harp, the Southampton Arms, and the Queen’s Head, as well as a lovely swim at the Highgate Men’s Bathing Pond
Good day in London with cask ales at Ye Olde Mitre and the Bull and Last and an outstanding meal at St John’s Bread and Wine with @kategrossman.bsky.social … and several bookstores
Beautiful sunset over Lake Raleigh on my evening bike ride. I just missed two great blue herons flying in low over the water
New screened porch! If you’re looking for me, this is where I’ll be. With @kategrossman.bsky.social
It was great to meet you, San Francisco. You have some wonderful bookstores. Here’s my haul from Dog Eared Books, Et al. Books, William Stout Architectural Books, City Lights Booksellers (and the Society for American Archaeology annual meeting)
Thanks to the NC State College of Humanities and Social Sciences for awarding me the 2026 Outstanding Research, Scholarship, and Creativity Award. Sad to miss yesterday’s award ceremony, but @kategrossman.bsky.social and I are celebrating it (and her tenure news!) in San Francisco
Dogs racked out after a sunny Sunday afternoon jaunt around the neighborhood
Prepping for a discussion of ruination, conservation, and transformation in today’s Material Culture course—pairing Caitlin DeSilvey’s Curated Decay with Ness by @robgmacfarlane.bsky.social and @stanleydonwood.bsky.social (in Ghostways) and a musical version of Ness by Hayden Thorpe. Should be fun
