Book that made you happy? I LOVED this book and it's sat in my top five so far this year. I think what makes me so happy about it is the setting. It's not really a comforting read by something about slipping into this cyberpunk-esque world really made me smile.

Book that made you cry? Quite a few books got me this year. The most devastating was Golden Son by Pierce Brown but I also read Han Kang's Human Acts which was incredibly emotional and taught me something.

Newest fictional crush? Tough one this year but it's Francis Abernathy from The Secret History, I'm into him - but sadly I'm not his type 😂

New favourite author? E.P. Bali who wrote the Her Vicious Beasts series. Got lost in this world for a while, be warned the smut levels are high. RH/MFMMMM.

Biggest surprise? This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me by Illona Andrews. My first isekai book, I loved the character building and relationships. The world felt real and it made me cry a couple of times.

Biggest disappointment? Abundance by Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson. I'm trying to get into more non fiction this year but this book really didn't do it for me. Felt like it leant heavily into "new technologies" to fix everything without any concept of needing to adapt our behaviours in any way.
