My mom, sister and niece are in Salem for my niece’s fastball national championships. Consequently, I get to spend some time watching my niece play fastball this week 🤩
My first freshly picked blackberry batch of the season, topped with roadside “weeds” for eye candy, will be dessert tonight if I can resist eating them long enough. Now to peruse my bookshelves for the perfect weekend story…
Sheila is here to remind me that her and her kiddos grace the pottery throwing area with their squirrelly magic, AND that it requires an abundance of nuts to keep the magic flowing properly.
The brave exploration of first time/newbie creatives doesn’t ever get old. It seems like my heart is always smiling these days. #ClayPlay #Pottery #Handbuilding #Ceramics
Teen Squirrel is thinking about taking up pottery, but only if Nemesis watches. TS: “Hey, where’d she go?!”
A friend told me about the amazingness of the Vancouver Farmer’s Market—I went today after Sunday Service at The Center. I’m basking in the bounty and look forward to good things all week. AND I finally found an excellent taco salsa with some actual kick! My seasonal cherry bowl overfloweth 😍🤗🥰
Happy Friday! Please enjoy this video of my cat Nemesis getting stoned on catnip!
Happy Friday! Here’s a honey pot 😍 #ceramics #pottery #wheelthrowing #pottersofbluesky #glazing #clayplay #kilngods
Happy Friday! 🌼🤗💕 #ceramics #pottery #wheelthrowing #glazing #clayplay #pottersofbluesky
This joy expanding practice is spreading throughout the neighborhood and is a great reason to go for a walk. Happy Memorial Day!
Today’s inspiration and timeline cleanse, courtesy of one of my neighbors 😍
Here’s a little pottery engineering feat—my sister wanted a ceramic flute stand and I could not find an existing model of such a thing so I had to make it up as I went. It turned out to be much simpler than how I started this project. Over the moon! #wheelthrownpottery #ceramics #pottersofbluesky
Irises and calla lilies from my sister’s garden 🤗 Happy Mother’s Day weekend, sky gazers! 💙
Yellow and purple flowers for me these days. Last time it was purple irises and yellow pincushions from Trader Joe’s. Today I’ve got yellow calla lilies and the some spiky purple flowers. I can get creative with my arrangements using this lotus seed pod frog vase. One of my favorite things!
There’s a lakeside park about 10 minutes away—I go there for the water lilies. Right now, leaf pads are just opening on the water surface (timeline cleanse). This park is amazing—it has so many ways to play, including a community garden with look, smell, taste, touch and listen sensory markers 🥰
When it’s imperative to stay put because you’ve found your people, there’s a balance one must strike that still satisfies chronic wanderlust. I’m so grateful my people knew they should be in a place where I can drive 10 minutes away on my play day and feel as if I’ve traveled somewhere beautiful 🤩
Here’s a commissioned mug in that fabulous purple combo, straight out of the kiln and sporting a lotus flower 🤩 #ceramics #pottery #wheelthrowing #glazing #kilngods
It was such a nice kiln unload yesterday—I want to keep sharing #ceramics #pottery #wheelthrowing #glazing #kilngods
Oh my goodness, I’ve been blessed with all the purple goodness the kiln gods could possibly dream up 🥰 #ceramics #pottery #wheelthrown #glazing #kilngods
Before meeting up with friends in downtown Hood River, I got some play time in at various spots along the Columbia River. I found quite a few agates. My favorite find (last picture) is probably a light colored carnelian—when dry, it looks a lot like citrine.
In keeping with today’s adopted theme, MORE TREATS NO KINGS, hosted by the kiln gods 😍
Just stacked a cairne with rocks from the Oregon coast and it looks like an otter floating on its back. Perfect! Now off to No Kings!
I’m having sushi for dinner tonight. On this hand built set, recently unloaded from the kiln.
