Hell of an opening sentence for a novel! (From "Hot Girls with Balls" by Benedict Nguyễn.)

The first couple of sentences of "Hot Girls with Balls: a novel" by Benedict Nguyễn. The first line is in all caps, bold font. "No one could think straight because everyone was actually gay. At least, that was how the kids on Flitter complained about a year of the COVIS pandemic frying their brains. And they weren't wrong. For example, one Sunday". The text cuts off there because I cropped the photo of the page.

A former colleague shared this image on another site. She didn't generate it herself. But I don't think she realized it's AI generated, even though it expresses anti-AI sentiment. Is... is this something Alanis Morissette would sing about?

I am at a teacher conference and I went to a makerspace play session and I made a happy little tree out of cardboard with a chompsaw and a kwik stix

This book really helped me solidify some of my thoughts, but an important phrase that stuck in my brain is that people, stuck in inhumane and unreasonable systems, will make the most humane and reasonable choices available to them.

Love love love how this guide to using computer code to make arty things still uses handmade drawings and handlettered charts. (Not exclusively, but importantly, imo.)
