Primary teachers are less content than secondary teachers this year & the gap is at its widest ever. July '22 there was no gap at all. Our theory? Delayed KS2 SATs results hit primary hard. 95% of leaders had extra work, 75% said it would spill into the holidays. Comment or tell us on the app 📲

A Tapper asked: does behaviour get easier for ECTs over time? 🤔 The gap between ECTs & experienced teachers starts wide, but shrinks to just 4 percentage points by April. The longer you teach, the better it gets. Teachers with 20+ years see just 31% of lessons disrupted. Hang in there, ECTs 💪

Behaviour disruption is up again and this June is the worst on record 📈 48% of primary and 38% of secondary teachers reported poor behaviour stopping learning in their last lesson, up from 42% and 32% in May. In June 2022, those figures were just 30% and 29%. What's driving the end-of-year spike?

With temperatures soaring, you'd be forgiven for thinking every classroom must have air con by now... Think again. Even in London, only 22% of primary and 24% of secondary teachers have it. In Yorkshire and the North East, that drops to just 8% and 12%. 🥵
