Surprised to see these Golden Plovers at Frampton Marsh RSPB Full summer plumage too
The Little Ringed Plovers are not easy to pick out on the new workings at PaxtonNR Only an adult in view this morning but the juv must be around somewhere Plenty of Warblers today - Common & Lesser Whitethroat Blackcap Garden Chiffchaff & Reed Plus a single Swift overhead
3 Green Sandpiper on the exposed sand in corner of Island Lake at PaxtonNR this morning @cambsbirdclub.bsky.social Also a few migrants moving through including Lesser and Common Whitethroats
2 Roseate Tern 3 Green Sand 2 Common Sand and cracking views of in flight Bittern was highlight of a day at Minsmere Lepidoptera included Hummingbird Hawk Moth Comma Small Copper Grayling Gatekeeper & Red Admiral
7 Cattle Egret 6 Black Tailed Godwit and 3 Redshank the best seen during a hot early afternoon amble round the Ferry Lagoon loop at Fen Drayton With a scattering of Warblers that included 6 Reed and 2 Garden @cambsbirdclub.bsky.social

Late night football and the tennis has meant little time for birding lately so it's good to get out this morning even if it is just up to Fowlmere The male Marsh Harrier was in the air on arrival - Chiffchaff Reed Warbler Blackcap and Cetti's are singing in the shrubbery
Even a calling Turtla Dove is not enough to convince me that getting out today was a good idea Its really hot at Fen Drayton RSPB and the heat is hitting me hard
Having had my fill of Shearwaters of the Bill on Portland day 3 is being spent of island - at Arne - where its sunny but breezy
A Rock Pipit was sitting so close this morning it was practically begging for me to take a photo through the scope - so I did
Been so busy elsewhere during the Spring that I've had little time to get up to PaxtonNR so good to be there this morning especially as the Cuckoo's are still cuckooing and the Chiffs Lesser & Common Whitethroats Blackcaps & Garden Warblers still being vocal - its a tad chilly though
A slow day at Spurn but a few trip ticks at least which included a few Common Scoter and Razorbill on the sea Spent an hour watching the Little Terns on Beacon Ponds this afternoon A delight it was too A few Avocet were also about

The walk to the hides at Ouse Wash RSPB can be a little energy sapping on a hot day like today Especially for this overweight oldie Even more so when there's little going on Around 30 Redshank 7 Avocet 4 BlackTGodwit 8 Oystercatcher 6 Whoooer Swan a Ringed Plover & a Marsh Harrier for my endeavours

From Mauritius to Frampton Marsh RSPB And already seen more birds in 10 minutes than the whole 2 weeks on Mauritius Including 2 Black Winged Stilts from the VC
A walk up the coast here in Mauritius while the wife lazed in the sun A Curlew was added to the holiday list but the coadtline stole the hour or so Tried some arty shots with phone camera but not sure I succeeded

Further exploration of the Maritim Resort gardens have revealed a Little Heron It didn't seem to mind my close presence as it fished in a small inlet by the beach
If like me you've never heard of Malagasy Turtle Dove before This is what they look like There seems to be many in the hotel grounds here in Mauritius
Having overdone the sun by the pool here in Mauritius It was the relative shade of the hotel grounds that got my attention with 4 newbies for the hotel list - Yellow Fronted Canary Common Waxbill Mauritius Fody and the familiar sight of a Moorhen Hope the legs won't put you off dinner
The doom n gloom of a wet day in Mauritius together with my lack of photography skills don't help with the photos of the many Fruit Bats at high altitude above the forests But I hope you get the idea of their true size from them
Three newbies added to the hotel grounds list last couple of days here in Mauritius Spotted Dove Village Weaver & Red Fody While Mascarene Martin observed flying above the forests at high altitude
A group of Mascarene Swiftlets were flying around the room balcony a few minutes ago Was then entertained by a Malagasy Turtle Dove on the pristine lawns of the hotel Had to look them up though as I'd never heard of 'em til 10 minutes ago 🙂✔️ In Mauritius
Not explored the hotel gardens much here in Mauritius but Common Myna appears the most abundant with the occasional Red-whiskered Bulbul Both introduced species I believe The views from the hotel are pretty cool
