There is no such thing as weather being too bad to build good urbanism Culdesac Tempe, Arizona @culdesac.bsky.social
Reminds me of the cornice of the building at the SW corner of Argyle and Sheridan
This building has a sign from “1st Choice Building Maintenance” which seems to indicate that the building will be fixed up. Though in many places along this street, repairing the building means stripping all the architectural details and covering it with grey brick. Hopefully that doesn’t happen
Can’t believe the wall forgot to wear a high-vis vest. It was just asking to be hit! 31st and Indiana
I loved visiting the automats when I was visiting the Netherlands, it would be absolutely great having these at or near CTA stations
The CTA put out a RFP for developing this property. It mentions installing pavers on the south side of the property near Clark and Roscoe, though that’s not the location pictured. I don’t see anything disallowing them from building on this corner, so hopefully this lackluster plaza is temporary
And right at the moment that I was trying to get home from the train station
Went to visit this intersection earlier today, I hope this can see the next standard for intersection design in Chicago, it really is very good quality infrastructure.
Do we know how the train is supposed to navigate around this block? Most of the right away is intact, but it was demolished in this single block, and I’ve never seen a proper answer of how it deals with this
Lots of empty lots, but I also saw a decent amount of construction nearby
Probably my favorite in the entire city of Chicago. There’s not a single other street in the city that looks like it Monroe between 5th Ave and Sacramento Blvd in East Garfield Park
Turns out we got some DC Reflecting Pool down in Chicago Washington Lagoon, Washington Park
News Live! Camera panned straight over to me, so guess I’ve made it on to the news!
There’s an audience behind the police tape. The front entrance of my home is cordoned off
So it seems like there was a shooting just in front of my house, there was a cop being put in an ambulance…
I have a second bike, a Dutch bike from the mid to late 80s (don’t know the exact year, but that’s currently in my parents home in St. Louis. I’ll bring it to Chicago when I move out of my current tiny apartment, which will likely be sometime next spring
There is a redevelopment planned for this site, not sure the timeline of the project chicagoyimby.com/2025/12/morg...
A rendering I made as part of my thesis project proposing a redevelopment plan of the South Works site
