Woke early and needed to keep my hands busy while my meds took effect. So I got started on the infill. Slightly mind bending but exactly what I needed. I'm ok. I'm having hives as a reaction to - who even knows at this point. No advice please. #blackwork #embroidery #hyperfocustask

A portion of the pattern for this design with individual x and o patterns marked with dots in red pen to help me keep track of where I've worked through. This pattern is by the Steady Thread and is actually in color showing which sections to work first, I just don't have a color printer.

Background stitching on the moon is getting there. Made very good progress this evening while rewatching a bit of campaign 4 of critical role. Which funnily, this could be a sneaky Vex reference when it's done, maybe I'll do a version with two moons. 🤔 #blackwork #embroidery #moon

Same embroidery from last post, but with the pattern almost, but not entirely complete. A circle composed of an x's and o's pattern with a space intentionally blank in the bottom right quarter. Embroidery is white thread on a variegated dark gray background that looks a little like a cloudy sky, held in a round wooden hoop. Behind a bit of the final pattern is visible and it's been drawn over with two pens in purple and orange visible on the side.

Nothing like a need to hyper focus on something for motivation! Started this black work embroidery Wednesday night and I've made incredible progress on the ground so far. 💀 🌕 #embroidery #needlework

Partially finished black work embroidery in a hoop. Fabric is a dark gray with various hand dyed splotches. Thread is white silk. A 3d ceramic skull magnet acts as my needle keeper. Mostly a circle at this point filled with zig zag vertical lines that merge with horizontal lines to form a pattern of x's and o's. When filled this will form the ground for filling stitches to make a realistic moon with a witch on a broom flying across it.

Today's tea has a new friend! Drinking Moonwaffles and plotting terrible things for my DND players tonight. 🍵 🫖

A spread of broken down fountain pens. Some of them are unknown but it includes (roughly right to left) a Twisb Swipe (dark gray), Sailor 1911 (teal), nahuvalr pride edition (white), hand turned pen, benu briolette, and muji pen. Several I've missed.

Today's tea is playing peekaboo. 🐞 🍵 🫖 Still working through the white Anji green from last year, and it's still pretty good.

Sunday's tea is a 2025 Green Anji as I work on... that's right, more writing! 🍵🫖

Today's tea is a ball of 2025 Glass House from @white2tea.bsky.social as I work on finishing my first blackwork embroidery. I've got one more slow day before I need to return to real life.

My white tea tray from above. Gongfu style tea setup, I'm using a white gaiwan and my white skull cup. On the corner of the tray is the folded cover paper for the tea ball which is a natural paper with a line drawing of a simple house on it. I've added a lego chrysanthemum to the tray which I built with a young friend last week. Have to say it looks good there. Blue white2tea tea towel under the tray and a dark blue Conklin box behind (holding a fountain pen I still need to ink up).
