Managed to get about another 1,000 words knocked out on a sci-fi/space opera story I’m working on today!
Alright I think I've gotten to the point where it's about time to start laying something out....It's going to be a process so why not get started?
Here's a visual representation of what my players tried to do to me as the GM in tonight's Fantasy Age game while I'm trying to wind the campaign down
You ever have a moment when you realize you haven't gotten an update on a game you backed in a while because they've been running a different campaign for their other title and you just really want the full rulebook already so you're just kinda like this?
Just picked up my copy! I just finished The Eye of the Bedlam Bride last night so I’ll have a bit to go before I get to it, but my local store had a deal where you also got a donut and sticker fo preordering
Did some doodling at an impromptu meetup with a local art group. Honestly I’m beyond happy with how far I’ve come and I’m starting to feel better about being able to capture some vibes for one of my tabletop campaigns
Did some art with a local group tonight, an something has been clicking lately to the point where I’m actually feeling better about them
Alright I posted it on my Discord server earlier but you all need to experience the comfort and glory of Penny falling asleep in my partner’s lap
Spent about an hour at a coffee shop with my partner after work and an errand, an my short story continues to grow! It’s now up to around a novella length, so let’s see where it goes from here
I was looking back over the amazing responses I got from @kendomakesfilms.bsky.social about why multiple TTRPG systems are used for their podcast Tales Yet Told to flesh out the primary setting of The Sublime. This right here sums up just why I try out so many new games, and why you should too
Slightly vulnerable moment, but one been trying to get back into drawing fantasy stuff again. My partner got me a little guide book for the holidays that, funny enough, I had as a kid, and it’s been so fun and grounding. I have a long way to go, but it’s been a fun practice
Don’t mind me, just getting slightly overwhelmed and dealing with analysis paralysis on what to listen to. Keep up the great work y’all!
Not my partner making me about absolutely weep with a gift that arrived today because I’m starting up an in person tabletop group and she wanted to make my prep just a little easier. These are a bunch of premade maps that I can just throw down as needed!
And of course, there's just too many new games that I want to play or play more of! This was just off the top of my head so I'm probably missing a lot (4/4)
I also listened to a lot of podcasts, but among my favorites were: @recklessattack.bsky.social @planetarcanapod.bsky.social @talesyettold.com @bloomandblight.bsky.social Also, special shout out to @literarydm.bsky.social's Winds of Calamity campaign which I've almost finished! (3/4)
I played so many good games this year, but some of my absolute favorites included: Backwater by @backwardsttrpg.bsky.social Vileborn by @horribleguild.bsky.social When the Moon Hangs Low by Isolation Games Daggerheart by @darringtonpress.bsky.social (2/4)
Alright here's my #TTRPGWrapped, inspired by the wonderful @blackgirlmage.bsky.social! (1/4)
Just saying, it’s releasing tomorrow. And newsletter subscribers, I’m working to get you a discount code with December’s issue!
Oh hey, I have a game coming out this week! In IronFrame, players are mech pilots taking on a variety of jobs, from megacorporations to freedom fighters, and the game is designed with short campaigns and one shots in mind! It's also rules light and meant to get you going in minutes! Releasing 11/29
Having a bit of a day mentally, so let’s try to change that. AMA anything IronFrame, the mecha TTRPG I’ve been working on that’s coming out next week
Here’s my totally not spoiled dog Penny being comfier than I probably have been in my life!
Let me tell you, I’m beyond stoked to finally be releasing IronFrame. I actually came up with the concept for it around a year ago, and this is the first game I’ve put together that’s not part of a jam! So if you’re interested in a rules light but tactical mech TTRPG, you’re in luck!
Hey folks, wanna see something that I think is neat? Here's the cover reveal of the game I've been working on! It's nearing an official release and will be published on DriveThurRPG and Itch!
#Tabletop game designers: This right here is amazing. It helps so much for planning purposes, and I appreciate knowing this isn't something meant to be played for years at a time with one character
Definitely meaning to get back to working on this, and it needs some design work to make it easier to read, but this right here is the core basis of the #mecha TTRPG I've been writing. The idea is for component sizes to be very, very fluid, while being quick to get into with just a bit of crunch
Do I know why I saved this anymore? Not at all. But it’s accurate for the time of year we’re going into.
Seeing this going around and you know what? It’s been a rough month and I could use the validation
9: Lancer. This is a game that I enjoy but honestly have some mixed feelings on, particularly from the GM side of things. But it’s a neat system with a really cool universe, plus hey mechs are always a plus
8: Hollows, by Rowan, Rook, and Deckard, specifically the quick start in this case. This one was an absolute blast to play through, and I'm still counting down for the full release.
