Plover baby season kicked off today with these ADORABLE little cuties who were hatched on my roof and needed help getting down. I was screamed at, swooped and was hit multiple times but both babies were happily reunited with their vengeful parents. Totally worth it. #birds #animals #babyanimals

This tiny native bee didn’t care that I was holding the flower and rotating it for better photos. They were totally lost in the sauce(pollen). #bees #insects #nature #entomology

Tiny bee found gathering pollen from clumps of small yellow flowers. No longer than 8mm from snout to vent, with a stout black body. Dark, semi transparent wings folded flat against the body when at rest, with slight iridescent sheen. Wide set black eyes on a black face with greyish ‘eyebrows’. Middle and back pairs of legs appear fuzzy and covered in faint pale yellow pollen, though no traditional pollen pouches can be seen. Very non-aggressive and focused on their task.

Teeniest cicada found resting on the side of a eucalyptus tree. Body is barely over 1cm in length from snout to vent, with the wings extending a further 8mm or so past the vent. Dark black head, thorax and abdomen and dark red eyes. Wings are transparent with black venation. Abdomen is short and sharply pointed with a pronounced ‘hump’ shape. Foremost pair of legs appear to be stouter than the others. Specimen not very shy, allowing for my index finger comparison.

The sudden burst of rain has resulted in these cute little jelly fungi on my balcony! It’s amazing how quickly fungi will grow in order to maximise a short opportunity. They really do live in the moment and seize the day.❤️ #fungi #mushroom #nature #science

Tiny bright yellow fungi found growing from rotting balcony wood. Growing numerous in a sparsely spaced group, sizes of individual bodies ranging between 1mm - 3mm in diameter. Round, irregular button shapes with semi-transparent bright orangey-yellow flesh. Larger individuals showed a concave centre. Very bright, cute, and cheerful in appearance.
