Geeky. Comedian, sort of. Corgi wrangler. Fuelled by red wine, anger at the patriarchy and fabulous lippy. she/her
Let this lad join me for my gig last night and he's turned into more of a diva than he already was. (What a hoot of a gig though, get yourself to a Coherent Comedy night if you can)
After a long hard week in my HR job where people wilfully misunderstood my job I was pleased to see that Masters Of The Universe was available to stream, so I settled down with a glass of wine and -
You are a very hairy corgi and the patio has finally cooled down
Me: going to wear short shorts and stretch out with a book on the sofa to stay cool while the sun passes over Hastings: excellent idea, you'll need a warm blooded furry blanket to help Me: ... it's lucky you're cute
Not dead, have not one but TWO new bras and ate a perfectly delicious Peruvian lunch (shut up I know alcohol is a bad idea in a heatwave but it doesn't count if you're on annual leave)
We spent this weekend in Rye! It was very pretty but also way too hot to do a great deal. Also I left my good comfy bra in the holiday flat, alas.
This weekend after thinking "oh it'll be a quiet one" we ended up spending yesterday at a heavy horse show in Enfield, which featured a fight on the Tube so bad they took the Tube out of service, Hastings coming 4th in the fun dog show and surprisingly few horses.
I've just been digging in to my folders to find it - he was so kind to us
I totally failed to clock what this was when I crossed the road in front of it so no idea if there's an actual driver in here, but a weird start to the morning.
He's also my most darlingest little fluffy boy with the bestest hairy wee face and I would commit a variety of interesting crimes against man and god if anything every happened to him but today has been: A Day.
I don't know what I did wrong this morning but apparently I should feel very judged about it.
R took Hastings away over the weekend though and accidentally took him to a historical re-enactment, in about three hours the dog is coming back WITH A SWORD, so when I say relaxing-
MCM is great, it's a bazillion degrees and we were all wearing Trek uniforms and they do not breathe so I drank beer as basically an isotonic, I saw a Boimler cosplayers, I bought excellent merch, I love my friends and I love conventions
A woodpecker has started to visit us, which would be charming, except we replaced the bird feeder to one even easier to clean and the woodpecker now takes a malevolent glee in aggressively pecking the empty container from about 6am until we refill it. Behold my alarm clock.
Over the next few days I am feeding my neighbour's cat, who is a. the world's angriest cat and b. called Michelle, both facts which just make me love her more. We've made progress from the last time, she's not bitten me for being too slow at putting food down yet.
He's also never been any good at fetch before, not really understanding why he should be responsible for bringing a ball back when we threw it in the first place but after losing two balls to labradors, he's finally cracked it! (I don't have videos of his balls being stolen but his little face!!)
Doggie splash park event a roaring triumph, Hastings can be a smidgen unpredictable in large groups of dogs, we've only just started letting him off lead and he doesn't generally like swimming but:
Hastings has learned to ignore musicals now, possibly out of self defence.
Stayed in a small holiday flat that's part of a hotel and a very good decision for a calmer dog. We had long walks on the beach, fish & chips, quite a few pints and spectacular weather. Can't argue really.
Went to Ramsgate this weekend, on the basis of 'a few people have told us it's nice' and do you know what, it IS.
